my silicone repairglue always expands...

No matter what brand or type, it always seems to get bigger. The specs say it should get smaller, I really don't get it and it angers me because repairs always look repaired or bad.

I use needles, tried tape, holding it for 20 - 30 minutes with my hands together. The next day there is always a millimeter white line or worse. If I use very little glue it just opens again. If I use a little more it expands in between the tear. From Silpoxy to Elastosil. Have I always been buying old glue or something??
