Fixing tpe with laser ?

I thought today about making myself a laser hot enough to melt tpe with an old cd burner , then I found this video. What do you think ?

All I know is to get hot enough you would need a powerful laser. There is little to no heat modulation on them so being able to adjust how much heat your putting on the material will not be possible. But on the plus side you will be able to be ultra precise only heating the area you will need to repair. I know laser will get hot enough, we use lasers for welding steel at work. Safety is the key here. Something that will get hot enough to do what you need might also be very dangerous.
Personally, I would go for a heat gun with a tip to narrow the stream of hot air.

I don't think this is a good idea. Lasers work often work at a temperature that sets things on fire if your not careful.
Heating Blankets on the other hand are low temperature heaters. But they can get hot enough to melt TPE. Unless you run the laser on a super low temp. I can see a laser cutting a doll in half like something from a Bond film.

It will most likely ablate the TPE. The factories use irons and heat guns.

...and yes the eye protection is essential, but ensure it is frequency and output rated for the laser you are using.

and there is no way I would use it on tpe, these can pop tyres in 20 seconds from 50 yards

This reminds me of the Movie Goldfinger, Where the Evil Villan Goldfinger has James Bond strapped down and a "LASER" pointed at him... In the 70s Movie Logans Run, with Farah Fawcet, automated "LASERS" were used to perform comedic surgeries....the Future Has Arrived.

Maybe just use a soldering tool. They're cheap at walmart, and hard to fuck up using.

Lasers of that strength are probably illegal in most states anyway. There's been several cases of ppl being arrested for pointing them at aircraft (a felony worth up to 5 years)

No !!! but I'm trying to equip myself for the future ahaha. I was thinking about making a pulse circuit to pin down the exact melting point of tpe. One day my crazy idea will be useful to someone. I know I know, at age 8 , I unfortunately did not built a flying suit to go to school and did not built a exosuit either . But maybe if I find a better way to fix tpe it will be worth it. I also thought about a hot glue gun turned into a melted tpe dispenser. Maybe. Anyway

That's fake, there are no blue laser diode capable of outputting 20000mW. At the very best it's like 8000mW but more likely between 1000 and 5000mW.

Just like dolls, buying unbranded lasers from aliexpress is not the best idea usually. The sellers lie
