Re: Figma Action Figure Collection - Complete Photo Sets
Thanks Sam, for photography these things are really fun to play with and I'll keep adding more as new ones get released and I can find a great deal.
Loneranger isn't kidding about the fragility though, these are technically not for play just for posing and display since the joints are made tight and can be looked at as moveable anime statues. For play ideally you'll want larger figures, maybe around the 1/9 scale and up similar to Play Arts Kai figures with larger joints (Figma are 1/12 scale and measure between 3-6 inches tall).
If you're looking to collect Figma figures I recommend buying a very inexpensive one to get a feel for the joint tightness. Any of the Legend of Zelda link figures are good choices since ones like the Link to the Past figure are actually well made for play and include lots of accessories like a regular action figure.

Re: Figma Action Figure Collection - Complete Photo Sets
Today's Figma is another custom one, this time based around #054 Phantom Ein.
The ghost face from Phantom Ein is a favorite of mine, but finding a proper body was difficult until I acquired the unique body from Motoko with it's lightly armored and fit appearance. Using these two as the base, the lower legs are replaced with the boots from Shielder to add more armor and some color. The arms look strange with this current combo and doesn't match my theme well enough, so the arms are replaced with a mix of the upper sleeve portions from Black Gold Saw and the regular forearms from Makina to create the fun sleeveless look. With a sidearm equipped and rifle in hand, the theme of a huntress with a ghost face is complete.
Theme: Ghost Huntress
Component List
- Head: Figma 054 Phantom Ein
- Upper arms: Figma SP-017 Black Gold Saw
- Forearms: Figma 028 Hoshimura Makina
- Boots: Figma 321 Shielder / Mash Kyrielight
- Thighs / Upper Body: Figma 274 Motoko Kusanagi S.A.C. Version

Here is a short set featuring Rider and Kiritsugu figures, I prefer using dark backgrounds for figures but this is on my white bedroom wall.

Re: Figma Action Figure Collection - Complete Photo Sets
Today's Figma is a new custom one, this time based on SP-009 Saber Bride.
I recently acquired an anime statue of Nero Claudius in her evolved bride outfit, which inspired this new figure.
The base body from Saber bride uses the same style though is more modest but serves perfectly as a starting point. Adding on the legs from Nero helps match the more risqué outfit, with the golden boots matching colors on the torso and belt. The upper arms are then switched out for a sleeveless look to get closer to the main inspiration's look. Finally, the rear head portion with bridal veil doesn't fit Nero's face or hair, and so is heated lightly to become a bit malleable which allows me to insert the face plates and hair portion from Nero so that after cooling everything fits together nicely.
Theme: Nero Bride
Component List
- Head / Legs: Figma 370 Nero Claudius
- Upper Arms: Figma 072 Teana Lanster
- Forearms / Main Torso: Figma SP-009 Saber Bride
Enjoy the photos.

Re: Figma Action Figure Collection - Complete Photo Sets
I'm really diggin' all your Figma figures and your custom build figures. It is cool to know that one can mix and match different parts to create something unique. One of the coolest things I like about (some/most) of these figures is the different face plates ... makes the figure so much more versatile for photo shoots.
Yeah ... someday I will be joining the Figma Club too. So many cute figures from many of the anime shows I watch. I am going to guess that my first pair will probably be Rem and Ram from RE:Zero.
Anywhoooo ...
Cheers!

Re: Figma Action Figure Collection - Complete Photo Sets
Today's Figma is one I've been waiting to photograph, this time it's Insane Black Rock Shooter.
With the new year there are tons of new figures set to come out, including Mercy and D.va from Overwatch, Warspite from Kancolle and plenty from the Fate series, all with increasingly impressive detailing as the Figma lineup continues.
This figure was first produced in 2012 but shows off the great amount of small details that are packed into these figures even early on, from tiny molded belt latches and ribbons and small pieces of cloth hanging off from the torso armor along with rusted paintwork and bullet marks on the blade and leg armor. My favorite portions are the paintwork especially on the hair, where it uses multiple shades of purple that really stand out in photos.

Average Cost: $140-250 USD

Re: Figma Action Figure Collection - Complete Photo Sets
Today's Figma is one more hybrid, based on Figma 208 Chihaya Kisaragi.
The head from Chihaya has a great look though her base body looks really plain. Using the body from Teana Lanster gives us our new base, but the legs are too short and thus replaced with the long elegant legs from Saber Bride. The feet and arms are then replaced with the nicely heeled shoes and flared sleeves respectively from White Rock Shooter, giving her a less cartoon look overall and instead a tall, lean and confident feel.
Theme: World Class Diva
Component List
- Head: Figma 208 Chihaya Kisaragi
- Main body: Figma 073 Teana Lanster
- Arms / Feet: Figma SP-033 White Rock Shooter
- Legs: Figma SP-042 Saber Bride

Re: Figma Action Figure Collection - Complete Photo Sets
Today's Figma is another new release for Spring 2019, this time the powerful fighter Yotsuyu Hirasaka from Alice Gear Aegis. She comes with three faces plate, interchangeable arms and legs with armored variants, weaponry pack and the standard Figma accessories.
Going into the 400+ series for Figma the company is using some really clever designs on new figures, my favorites include an extendable torso joint so you can pose them sitting down now for some figures, interchangeable separate parts for the legs and arms, and the easy to remove accessories compared to glued on versions.
The use of more art focused packaging also gives them a better look when displayed in box, with a larger window view and less brand markings similar to the earlier 100-200 series.
Pricing
- Average estimated cost: $95-150
- Total price paid: $70

Re: Figma Action Figure Collection - Complete Photo Sets
Today's Figma is another one I've been waiting to get for cheap, this time it's android warrior Kos-mos from Xenosaga. She comes with two face plates, two separate chest armor styles, a strong arsenal of weaponry and the standard Figma accessories.
This figure features one of my favorite designs on a figure, the use of translucent pieces for her hair. Usually these are either cast in clear plastic and painted afterword with a clear color paint or cast in clear plastic with the pigment added in. In photos these pieces glow nicely and really stand out with the proper light.

Re: Figma Action Figure Collection - Complete Photo Sets
For today's Figma I have another hybrid figure, based off #390 Jeanne Alter.
The base body from Catwoman is our starting point, the extendable hip joint gives the body exceptional range of motion for posing. The head from Jeanne Alter replaces the original with a good skin tone match and just the right amount of her neck showing so the bell necklace isn't covered. The original feet look a bit cartoony and are replaced with Jeanne's armored shoes. Finally I wanted her to use the larger and long Ignis Blade but her hands are too small, the arms from Dead Master with their long claw fingers work perfectly for the fit and finish off the figure.
Theme: Knight Assassin
Component List
- Head / Feet: Figma 390 Jeanne Alter
- Upper arms / body/ Legs: Figma 412 Catwoman
- Forearms: Figma SP-013 Dead Master
- Weapon: Ignis Blade

Re: Figma Action Figure Collection - Complete Photo Sets
Today's Figma is another custom one, based on a regal body of Warspite from Kancolle. I was able to acquire the body for cheap without a lot of the accessories, though got plenty of the pieces I wanted.
The base body from Warspite is so amazing with tons of detail, from her detailed necklace and red bow to the heavy clothing flaps and corset with the off the shoulder look standing out. The original head is hard to replace since it also retained this level of detail, along with requirements like a specific head size and presence of long bangs in the hair to make the bare shoulders appear more flush. The head from Scathach is a great match in both style and skin tone, with her long, thick and shapely legs replacing the originals without too much color contrast since it matches her hair.
Theme: Commander Scathach
Component List
- Head / Legs: Figma 381 Scathach
- Body: Figma EX-052 Warspite
