Figma Action Figure Collection - Complete Photo Sets

COOL as all get out! It's awesome to know that these figures CAN be pulled apart and reordered in some fashion to create these "customized" figures. As I've been watching more and more anime, I am starting to know SOME of the characters you have displayed. I am slowly being pulled in the direction of adding a few to my home.

I checked out Figma's website earlier today and ... WOW ... lots of cool stuff. Saw some Love Live figures and a few from Durarara. I am looking for a "Mira" figure from the show "Dimension W" to start me off. I MAY also delve into Love Live figures as my intro into Figmas. Gotta have a cool "band" to photo shoot!

Anyway ... thanks for keeping up with this thread Sate! Much appreciated!

Thanks Shredhead, these are great to have and collect while searching for my next doll for review. They aren't as cuddly, but everything has downsides.

The next set will feature another custom figure, this time curvy and really tall.

I have a modest sized manga and anime figure collection. I got one ikea detolf full of figures and a shelf of manga. Always awesome to see collections.

Do you buy your figures locally? or online? I would think California would have the best options for storefront goods. There are no anime stores anywhere near me. Only comic book shops.

I preorder on AmiAmi and Hobbysearch 1999. I also use Mandarake for all the preowned anime stuff.

I usually buy my figures online mainly for the better variety, being near Los Angeles there isn't any shortage of stores selling them but they do charge full price. The usual place I go to is Anime Jungle in Little Tokyo though I've been going far less since going into LA to shop is always a frustrating time just looking for parking.

Afternoon,

Today I have another new release figure, for the month of August Kasumi from Dead or Alive joins the thread. She comes with alternate hip and hair portions, short blade weapon and hilt with two tassel attachments, two face plates, and the standard Figma accessories.

With this new Kasumi figure comes some changes to the Figma box and figure composition. The new style box features a smaller profile being roughly one inch shorter and half an inch thinner than the regular boxes, and a larger window portion. The figure also shows off a new style of joint that I haven't seen yet, a unique ball piece is attached to the hip / thigh joint that allows it to extend up and down, making it so you can pull down the legs for better range of motion. The legs can then be pushed back up to into the hip section for standing poses, giving you even more options for poses than ever before without affecting the overall look of the figure.

I've included a few shots of her doing an impressive high kick to show off the new joint, she can almost kick as high as I can now.

Morning,

Today I have another custom figure to show, based on Figma 193 Rei Kuroki.

The addition of longer legs and arms, along with removing her normally included scarf, shows off an older teen look with a light robotic touch thanks to the armored gauntlets and boots. The torso portion holds some nice additions to this look with the neck tattoo and low cut shorts. The dark blue and white color scheme help keep the overall color balanced between the various parts.

Today's Figma is another hybrid based on Figma 205 Futayo Honda, this one uses parts from four figures for its construction.

The idea for this one was to add better looking armor pieces to the Futayo body, which already has the build for a combat expert. Removing the skirt portions and adding the more elaborate boots from Shielder shows off her toned legs better, replacing the arms with Cryska's TSF pilot uniform version adds more armor while maintaining the same color style and polished black look, and finally adding the blued wings complete the theme of a battle angel.

Today I have one last new custom Figma figure, this time based on Figma 080 Nozomi Akiyama.

The Nozomi body is fairly limited due to having a shorter torso joint and the skirt portion being part of the dress, adding on longer limbs from the Miku figure increases her height and gives her a more perceivable adult body. The polished appearance of the gloved arms and high heeled legs are matched with a ribbon accessory added to her waist, further matching her to my theme of a cute advertising girl.

Morning,

Today's Figma is another custom one, this time it's schoolgirl Irisviel von Einzbern.

The base head and lower body of Irisviel is easily added to the Hitagi school outfit torso with a common connection point, but this small change really makes the colors pop. Her matching hair and skirt colors are more evident thanks to the soft pink color of her top, with small bits of added color from the necktie and grey stockings. The overall look is light and candy colored, bringing to mind ice cream and cake.

Most new figures come with at least two different faces, usually being ones that match official artwork. Sometimes you'll get lucky and find one you really like with up to four different faces though what expression they are is always unique.

Lucina is a great one, so many details worth pointing out from texturing on the pants to the three-portion build of her cloak / scarf.
