ok .. in another thread mikemike231 made a comment ...

I think the Arte/Tokyo girls are starting to get some serious competition from the IH girls 8)

besides mikemike231 ... ibella has some IH dolls ... and Mio is part of my life

her full name (in Japanese), and written Japanese style (family name first, given name second) is Komugi Mio ... written as shown below ... and her first name uses the kanji that mean beautiful cherry blossom
... and yes her chinese zodiac sign is the Rabbit

Mio and I have already had our first anniversary (back in May) ... and she and I are getting ready to go to our second doll show

thank you to all for the kind words :D

that's cool 8)

I got Mio's name done at a local Aki Matsuri (Fall Festival) by an older lady who was doing calligraphy

LOL since I never studied Chinese astrology I actually had to look up what her sign was ... and it was rabbit for 2011

hehehe ... like I had said elsewhere, she IS my sweetheart ... and she IS more than a little bit spoiled (she likes it that way :P )

I'd like to get her more clothes ... if I could only get IH to understand that only using PayPal is hurting their business, because not all of us like using that

as it is, I have been thinking about getting back into learning sewing (yeah way back in the dark ages they had "guy" home ec' classes that taught cooking and sewing) ... partly because Mio would enjoy some more clothes ... and because I would like her to have some clothing styles that IH doesnt make for their dolls

besides being beautiful ... she is also wonderful at giving hugs & kisses

I think you can get clothes that fit Iplehouse girls from other companies as well, but I don't know which ones off-hand... Learning sewing is the best though so you can really get what you want hehe

true

yes you can get clothes for some of the IH girls from other places ... just not for the EID girls

for the SID girls (60cm), and their smaller lines, yeah you can find other sources

the EID girls are 65cm, and while that doesnt sound like much of a difference ... when it comes to clothing for them it is a HUGE difference

early on I had been told that on some other forums ... and when I did a measurement comparison it wasnt even close ... not only was she noticeably taller (longer arms and legs) ... when I looked at bust size ... Mio is much larger than those 60cm girls
... when I picked her out, I opted for the large bust for her ... and she is very attractive
... it just makes it impossible to get her clothes from anyone except IH (and even then it isnt easy)

I did the math ... and Mio is a 38D or DD sized girl ... most all the other 60cm girls (and the "standard" EID's) are 36's or smaller (except for one or two of the Volks bodies)
... even ordering her clothes from IH, I have to be careful about shirts and dresses ... I have to make sure to pick the right size ... and of course her size is usually sold out almost as soon as the item gets posted

I would not trade my Mio, or give her up, for anything in the world ... but getting clothing for her has proven to be a real challenge :?
... I'm hoping to make a sewing maching my next major purchase after I finally get a "real" camera

Oh there's lots more big doll girls around now like Soom's 79cm tall Mecha Angels

Fairyland, Dollstown and Loong Soul all have 70cm girls although I'm not sure how the bust/waist/hip ratio measures up. Loong Soul has a very corseted shape body, huge boobs and hips, very narrow waist, plus they don't have a whole lot of clothes for their girls yet.

So not sure if some of the clothes from the other bigger girls might fit the EIDs.

Oh yeah! There's a company called Freedom Teller I think it is, that makes Iplehouse's clothes and they have their own separate site, so they might have more EID clothes there as well. I'll check it out a bit later for you. I have to take care of some bills and stuff before I mess around too much hehe.

grrr... even though those other dolls are taller, at least one of their proportions are too small for their clothes to fit EIDs.

Bust/waist/hip:
EID large bust: 32/21/32
Mecha Angel: 31.5/21.5/32 (these are nearly 80cm tall though so depending on the style, an outfit might or might not work) http://dollsoom.com/eng/mechaangel_info.html
Fairyland: 24/19.5/29 http://dollfairyland.com/shop/step0.php ... 0511075331
DollsTown: 26.6/19.6/30/3 http://dollstown.com/18yrs-girl-body.html
Loong Soul: 31.5/17.5/30 (they have 3 bust sizes though so I'm not sure which one that measurement is) http://loongsouldoll.com/Product_Sorts.asp?Sortsid=2

And Freedom Teller hasn't gotten around to making female EID clothes yet.... their biggest sellers are EID male suites and they made some SID female clothes and a suit, but they haven't been around very long... looks like they take special orders though, so they may tailor something for you.
http://www.freedomteller.net/index.php

I was so sure that Loong Soul at least would match everything but the waist... I mean with a sculpt like this!:

I ordered one myself 2 months ago. Thought I'd like to have at least one girl with humongous breasts lol. Hope the wait isn't too much longer! that's the really sucky thing about buying bjds... the insanely long wait time.

Oh yes, there are other great tailors that you can commission. Let me know if you want me to dig some up.

ahhh ok ... I knew about the 80cm girl that Dollmore puts out, the "Lusion" series, but those are designed to look like children

I was not aware of the others ... thank you for the info :D

yeah it is a bit of shame that there is a "real" world that just "has" to be interacted with  ... it takes away so much of the time we could spend with our dolls

thank you very much for the info :D

the DollSoom Mecha Angel is very close in measurements ... the height is not as much of a problem as some things could be shortened up with a hem

and the Loong Soul "Grace" is close if I stay with tops and dresses ... her waist and hips are way too small

and that is what I have seen for much of the bjds ... measurements that seem to use an anorexic teenage beanpole as their model  .... 95% of real life girls dont look like that, and the ones that do, are WAY too scary to think about

as for Freedom Teller ... if the clothes are made for an SID girl, some will work with an EID girl as long as she is not the large bust version ... IH advertises the same thing for some of the clothes they make for the SID (thought IH does not tell you the SID tops will not fit a large busted EID girl)
ibella wrote: I ordered one myself 2 months ago. Thought I'd like to have at least one girl with humongous breasts lol. Hope the wait isn't too much longer! that's the really sucky thing about buying bjds... the insanely long wait time.
yeah ... there CAN be some really long waits ... my Mio took a while, but not as bad as some I have heard about ... it was not quite two months from the time I ordered her until she arrived :D
ibella wrote: Oh yes, there are other great tailors that you can commission. Let me know if you want me to dig some up.
please yes 8)

that would be great :D

not just for me to check out :D
... but if I can get one of the mods interested in starting a sticky for all the info like this I could do a sort of all the info I put in the small doll company list thread (which Szalinski suggested), and add extra info at the end, like sources for clothing and other accessories (like scale airplanes, artillery, tanks, guns, horses, etc)

and before I forget ... here is another source for doll clothes, and dolls ... it is not a dollmaker ... he is just a sales outlet for some brands, and for various other companies that make clothes and other accessories for various size dolls ... (it is where I got Mio her Glock G-17 pistol)
... Junky Spot ... http://www.junkyspot.com/ ... despite the name, he is actually a good guy to deal with

Mio was pleased with that pic when she saw it

I was playing around with my new camera, a little Sony DSC-W530 ... and I dont even remember what mode I had selected for that shot ... but it came out kind of dreamy looking

Junkyspot is great, I got my Obitsu, Echo from them.

Some other English doll representatives:
Alice Collections: http://www.alicescollections.com/
Angel from Heaven: http://stores.ebay.com/Beautiful-Doll?_ ... 4340.l2563
Denver Doll Emporium: http://www.denverdoll.com/index.php

Hobby Search: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/doll/
Mimi Collection: http://www.mimiwoo.com
Mint on Card: http://www.mintoncardinc.com/dolls/index.php
Pupa Paradise: http://pupapa.com/shop/

i can't seem to find the tailor shops again... If you were a member of the Den of Angels forum they have lots of people on there that are up for commission, but the site is invite only and I don't have the ability to send invites. Plus once you get invited, before you have access to the marketplace you have to wait 20some days and make at least 30 posts or something and the posts have to be in different threads and you can't just make generic posts to build up your post count for marketplace access. It's kind of pretentious and has a LOT of rules, but there's a lot of good resources there.

I posted a thread asking for info on other shops like Freedom Teller but no one has helped yet.

thank you for the list of links 8)

and cool that you knew about Junky Spot 8)

I had heard of Mint on Card, but I have never dealt with them

yeah it is ... WAY too pretentious ... I turned down a chance for an invite to that group over a year ago ... I have no use for a group where the bulk of the members walk around with their noses WAY up in the air ... I hate snobs and I absolutely refuse to pander to their over-inflated egos
ibella wrote: I posted a thread asking for info on other shops like Freedom Teller but no one has helped yet.
whenever you get some info it will be greatly appreciated 8)

for the next couple days my main focus will be on prepping for the doll show Mio and I will be going to ... I want to make sure I dont forget anything
... I had started looking through the Mecha Angel clothes, and saw an outfit or two that I think Mio would like for Xmas
especially this one ... the pants can be hemmed up to fit her
