Putting lights behind a dolls eyes
It has been a few months now that I have been wondering what a doll would look like in a pitch black room if her face would light up like this: For example, You are sleeping and she is beside and you wake up in the middle of the night and you cant actually see her since it is pitch black (unless you sleep with a nightime light).
Instead of turning around and turn on the light that is the closest to you, I was thinking how about you go feel behind her head and turn on a switch to make her face light up instead.
Today was a major snowy day (Yes I know, it is only November) so I decided to take a day off from work and start to work on my project.
I had a spare head so here it is:
Please NOTE that this is a pilot project using 7 volts LED lights. And I only use the hardware that I had with me at the time.
After the weather is nicer or after a better paycheck, I will go to the hardware store to buy supplies to make it better.
After I removed the skin from the skull, I got a surprise to see that her jaw was fracture.... Not that bad that she couldnt talk (That is too bad) but that fracture came from the factory and not from me from punching her head out. But by removing the skin from the brain, I saw a big flaw coming from the manufacture. They had put some glue at the end of the oral canal and with a tiny hole to let the air out so that the eyes dont bulge if you like oral.
I have never tried oral since I am too paranoid to damage a pretty face but I can see that if you jizz hard enough or wash her mouth, liquid will go into in the fiberglass skull.NOT GOOD!
I have a VPX B&D flashlight that I decided to dismantle. It is a 12 volts but powered it down to 7 volts with resistors since it is LED. So I removed the internal part of that flashlight and kept the switch and wiring to the LED lights

I will work on that but will I need to install more resistors to lower the voltage and I hate soldering those things lol!Boobman wrote:Would some clear glow in the dark solution of some kind be easier & give the desired effect. Like a synthetic juice from fireflies for example. Try stepping down the voltage too.

If you get it to the point where it looks like the opening to the movie Eyes of Laura Mars, that would be pretty cool.Chuck Norris wrote:I will work on that but will I need to install more resistors to lower the voltage and I hate soldering those things lol!Boobman wrote:Would some clear glow in the dark solution of some kind be easier & give the desired effect. Re: Putting lights behind a dolls eyes
I think I am getting close to my goal.
Today, I went to my local automobile shop to buy the parts that I wanted to complete my mods and I totally have forgotten that they were closing at noon on Saturdays...Damn it!
So I continue on with my usual Saturday shopping.
I stop by at the dollar store and found some weird looking LED flashlight.... Then it suddenly rang a bell in my head saying "Dude! You do not need a 12 volts battery with resistors to make LED work.Get some Cell batteries instead"
So there I went and bought all that junk and came back home and started working on my mods.
Good thing that I did stop at the dollar store and found those things. Shopping at any other store would have cost me 5x the amount probably.
So here it is folks and the end result is way better than my first try.
Please NOTE that if you try to copycat this mod and your doll melt in the process or your house burn down because you haven't use the right voltage, I will NOT nor the TDF forum will be held accountable for the damage occurred. lol! Just wanted to make sure..
I use cell batteries that equal to 12 volts at maximum and NOT a plug in the wall at 120 volts.
So here it is: This project is still not finished yet. I lost a few eyebrows and I need to glue them back and redo all the makeup again. Give me a few days please
