Are all your silicone dolls cast with foam, Patrick?toonist wrote:When we create a doll to be cast in silicone, we also create a second mold of her “ core”... to be cast in soft foam. The skeleton is encased in this foam. The lightweight foam takes the place of many pounds of silicone. It rests about 3/4 of an inch below the skin.

Re: New Doll, Progress????
Most of the summer i was outside working in dappled sunlight
coming through the trees , out on my deck.
Music playing...
We had a few things get in the way of molding...
One, is that I kept finding things I wanted to add or re-do.
I have always been terrible about finishing projects. But, she is pretty darn close to my vision.
Life-Like. Nice muscle tone, but not too much. Beautiful face. Good detail.
I just didn’t want to rush her through and then later regret not changing something.
So now,
It’s getting cold outside and it’s time to work inside and mold.
Her head is done and we’re working on the body mold.
Is does indeed take time (and money) ...
We’ll then be creating a mold for her foam core as well so we can keep her weight down.
And, incorporating two different types of skeletons...

I have her head molded.
But haven’t molded her body yet. We’re puting together the mold materials.
We have some other bills to pay first.
It is quite expensive to make a body mold.
I had hoped to do this earlier, but just haven’t been able to get to it yet.
Thanks,
Patrick
