WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THESE REAL TOP MODELS - NEW FACES

Curious to know what you think of faces like these. My "other life" is working in fashion/film/photography in London. Even after 20 years, it still always amazes me how many models arrive looking peculiar or "non-standard pretty" and the moment they have make-up on and step in front of the camera they are transformed - some with really magical faces that bounce the light in spectacular ways, giving a new depth to their features.

Most dolls faces, definitely not all, I find to be in the realm of a more "standard" and acceptable...asymmetrical beauty. We would call it a "commercial" look rather than "editorial" - the latter which can sometimes be so unique that they are on the verge of ugly by some people's standards. There is a mix of striking and unusual here...what do you think? (Full story link below)

Personally I have zero interest in fashion, so pay very little attention to models. When I do see pictures of them in magazines, on the web etc. I find they mostly look pretty unremarkable...very thin / underfed and miserable-looking (is there some rule that they're not allowed to smile?)

I think models used to look a lot prettier, but it seems the trend for the last decade or so has been very average-looking girls. Possibly a combination of weird trendiness and trying to make normal women feel better about themselves?

The only one thats recently struck me as really attractive was Cara Delevigne. Other than that I think you can find hotter girls walking down most high streets on any given day.

I dont think any of those pictures you posted would get a second look from me if I passed them in the street.

I wouldn't describe any of them as pretty. Plain or average at best IMO.

Those starving fashion models have personal, but not beautiful faces. If you are looking pretty faces, go to porn industry sites. I would like to see Elsa Jean, or Aletta Ocean or especially Riley Reid.

Most are far too androgynous for my tastes, with exception to pic #1 and the Asian in pic #3. Those are the only ones I would consider attractive on at least some level.

Sorry, none of these faces look attractive to me. They appear empty of emotion.

If you want to create a striking look, who not create a head that resembles the actress Christina Hendricks? She looks good in every shot, and always seems on the verge of a smile, or outright happy to see you.

I'm sure those girls(?) are nice privately. They make me go limp as a dead worm though

It's funny you should say that I tend to agree somewhat. (And I'm way more into film/photography than fashion but admittedly enjoy styling) I worked on quite a few shows at London Fashion week recently and the prettiest girl I saw in the entire 4 days (out of maybe 200+ models) was a mixed-race girl in my production team! This is up against biggish names like whatsername Jagger and Adwoa Aboah.
The only model with a bit of meat on her bones was mini (Lottie) Moss and I think mostly due to a boob job!

Contrary to popular belief, most models eat like pigs given the chance - any catering will be gone in seconds.

In regards to smiling - I used to have a folder called "Why models should not smile" full of models who seriously looked terrible when they smiled. I should dig it up

I think it's got less to do about trying to make normal women feel better about themselves (although I'm sure it does if you compare yourself to a weird, alien-like 18 year old) even though they may say this on the surface and more to do with agencies trying to "out weird" eachother and up the stakes in discovering someone really unique that they can market the hell out of....or just be seen to be progressive by promoting bigger girls on the catwalk for a day, then go back to their skinny waifs the next day.

I'm in no way saying these girls are super hot - I was just curious what others think of "fashion model beauty" compared to dolls or pretty ladies in general....

I'm sure with all the Hendricks I've seen there must be someone creating a sculpt by now.

She is stunning I agree. Lovely smile.

I wasn't looking for pretty faces...if I was I would NOT look at these...I was just curious if I was right in thinking people would prob find them very weird rather than pretty.

Do any of these women smile? I know they're working and who likes work but seriously...they look like they smile less than I do. Aside from the fact that some look like they haven't had a meal bigger than a celery stick in over a year, there's one or two that...damn, how do I put this without being rude??

Is there some alien DNA in their ancestry? Especially those last two?
