Guys,

Can anyone give me info on what type of box or crate they ship in?

I know Realdoll comes in a humongous wooden crate that is almost impossible to move, what about 4Woods?

Anyone purchased from 4Woods USA; looks like you come out a little better buying from them since you get all options included in the base price.

Any feedback on experience would be welcome.

Thanks,

Fitz62

Hi,

The complete doll (body + 1 or 2 sides + accessories) is delivered in a package of 159 cm x 60 cm x 30 cm, for a total weight not exceeding 40 kg.
The packaging is cardboard, very strong and the doll is very well protected.

I can carry the cardboard vertically with the doll inside.

Note that at this moment, 4WOODS Europe (former Doll Story) offers a promotion to 4990 € all options and shipping costs included.

Hmm I was curious about this myself.

Is that really sufficient padding on the neck/feet to survive a Fedex adventure? Doesn't look much better than typical WM packing. And 4W charges what $1000 for the shipping?

The cardboard is in triple thickness with the lid. The doll is protected with padded paper, hands and feet are also protected.
Finally, the doll is in a cover.

A cardboard box is much more convenient than a wooden box.

As 4Woods uses a double cardboard box, a cardboard box within a cardboard box, this is quite protective. Also in my experience the way the doll is packed and protected is quite well. Okay it's cardboard, this is not as protective as a wooden crate, but it's much easier to ship and to handle.

From my experience the double box is excellent. Mine has gone from Japan to France to England to France and finally back to England.
In all those trips and handling it was only the outer box which suffered any kind of damage. When I sent it back to France it did need some tape on the outer box around the corners but always the inner box survived OK.

Well, not off route really, do you remember when she had a problem with her knee and had to go to hospital? Hence the second trip to France. :D
Anyway, you know Hanna, do you think she'd get lost?

Yeah, I remember. I was mostly thinking she'd take a nice detour and do some sightseeing. Actually, with her visit at the spa, I'm pretty close :P

:haha4: Oh yeah, that's always a possibility. Goodness knows where she goes in the day when she's out on the wild plains.

Just to get back on topic, yes, 4Woods boxes are lovely, very beige, match any decor. :D

Thanks for the information.

One more question, what carrier did the ship with, DHL, UPS, etc.?

Thanks,

4Woods Europe ships their dolls with FedEX.

4Woods USA shipped a doll to me using UPS.

Oh a double box does sound a lot better. I was assuming it was a single box.
