My Stephanie diary- a review of the Pipedream Kitty Doll

Here there! Hows it going? I know it has been a while since I been here and I see you been doing well with Stephanie. I think she is your nicest doll yet. I been on a bit of a hiatus with my Eryka because she is packed away right now. I sold my parent's house and there is no 'secret space' in my apartment where I can spend some 'happy time' with her. So Eryka is in a box in my living room right now. So I am bummed out as I do miss her. I came on line here to see what was going on. I learned that DS Dolls has a new line of 'EVO' dolls which are incredibly realistic. They are a lot like your Stephanie but sadly just as expensive too. The faces on these new dolls are to die for. I was in awe. They have a 167cm and a 145cm. Not that I am in the market for another doll, but the weights on these look really good at 29kg and 19kg respectively. I always complained that the DS Dolls were just too thin. While they still are thin, they just put more curves on the bodies in the right places. Now what used to look like thin legs have MUCH more shape to them. Even though they only give you two faces to choose from, they are stunning.

Probably the only reason for my looking was that even though I am overall happy with the Dagmar doll, three of the four arm joints are now loose and it is hard to put her in those nice poses I did initially. Her leg joints are still fine though. But I don't move them around that much for fear of them loosening up. The main saving grace is that she still stands on her own.

I wanted to ask you as to how your Dagmar held up. In fact I am curious as to how all of your ladies are doing and which one are you the most happy with.

Yeah, the joints loosening up is really the biggest strike against Dagmar right now. Cammy's left arm's pretty much hanging limp, and she can no longer stand on her own because of the limp left leg.

I think that's one reason why I been getting on great with Stephanie. She's nicely built and so far, nothing's loosened up or shows sign of breakage- not counting fingers of course! lol

My favorite of my girls at the moment would be a close run between my Textile Jewel and Stephanie. Riza would've been in the running if she wasn't so darn small, and Cammy's out of the running for the most part due to "health" reasons lol.

With that said, the best cuddle still goes to Cammy. There's just something really really nice that a Dagmar can give in that department.

Yeah, I read that on your Cammy review page and I was just shaking my head in disbelief. I was so happy with my purchase of the Dagmar doll because it just seemed to fit my needs the best, but then to hear and find out first hand for myself the problems the doll has, it is disheartening. I wanted to go nuts with fashion shots with my Eryka, but after seeing the trouble you went through and then my problems as well. While her arms are not limp, limp, they will not stay straight up. The forearms will fall down about halfway, and likewise for the left shoulder. The right shoulder, however, is still tight. But if you see my shots you see that I don't have her sitting or standing in any weird positions. She is pretty much standing straight or sitting straight. I try not to move her around as much. I just worry if one of her legs goes, then that is it, I can't pose her any more. I kind of felt bad that you had to prop your Cammy up on the treadmill with her arms behind the folded bar just so she could stand. It is very disappointing because I just felt this doll had such a nice shape to her body and had nice thighs and lower legs too. Finally the 15" shoulder span was a big selling point for me because I like BROAD shoulders on a woman.

What of the fingers on Stephanie? Did they break already?

Looking in from my end based on what I see, out of your ladies, Stephanie is by far the hottest. I looked her up on the site you got her from but I was shocked to see that she was listed at $3500! For that price I could get a 167cm Evo from Doll Sweet. Looks wise, there is a dramatic difference, but in terms of shape and size, you probably wouldn't notice that much a difference between Stephanie and the new DS Dolls.

For me, the best thing is if there is a permanent fix for the skeleton on the Dagmar dolls. Buying a new doll means buying a new wardrobe and I already spent far too much on Eryka. But hey, I was excited when I got her and I had a ton of fun buying her clothes. But now that she is being 'stored' I have not bought her anything but a new wig and a new insert.

With that said, the best cuddle still goes to Cammy. There's just something really really nice that a Dagmar can give in that department.

I don't have another doll to compare her with, but I agree that when I was cuddling and having sex with Eryka, it was pretty darn amazing. If I was too tired for bedroom Olympics, I would just put her in a nice nightie. Drape my arm of her stomach, hand on her breast. I would go out like a light every time. LOL! I almost always had her in that kinky curly wig for sleeping as that wig never lost it's style nor had I ever had to comb it. I just shook it out and it just popped back in style. I think your Stephanie would look awesome with such a wig. I know you can't see, but I have to say, that kinky hair feels good to run your fingers through. It is very tight small curls and the hair is on the 'poofy' side if that helps to describe it more. That wig and of course the platinum blonde one that I got with her are my favorites.

Anyway nice chatting again and nice to hear that overall you are doing fine with your ladies. Just keep an ear out if you come across anything that might be a good permanent fix for the joints on the Dagmar doll.

Oh that sucks! You pay so much for a doll to have that happen right away? That is one thing I have to say that is nice about the Dagmar body. Nice solid fingers. As a precaution I don't move them around much either. Eryka's hands are small but when I mesh my fingers with hers either bare or when wearing silk gloves? It is heaven. I feel like I am holding a real hand. She has nice hand contours, but I am sure you noticed that by now. But I very rarely move her fingers around. In fact I only bent them back when she was leaning on her hands in back of her for posing shots.

I know DS Dolls has one of the best made skeletons out there and I do believe they have solved the hand issue. As far as I know, I have not heard of guys having trouble with them. BTW, can Stephanie shrug her shoulders?

I am good with the mechanical side of things, but I don't know what could be done as a permanent fix. I would actually have to examine the joints of a higher end skeleton and see how they are put together and then the next thing is using the proper materials so that the joints do not come apart so easily. Sewing is another issue and sadly I don't know anything about. But if I would find something out I would go with a joint style that you could adjust so this way you don't have to make the joints too tight. I think that was the problem with the Dagmar doll. The joints are too tight and then critical components would move the wrong way and loosen up. I noticed this sometimes when I partially overturned her left shoulder, all of a sudden it got stiff again. But that would only last a couple movements and then it loosened back up. So something is prematurely wearing. But I can tell you right now, I am NOT taking Eryka apart unless I had another doll first.

I sure hate the idea of going smaller, but the 145cm DS EVO dolls are MUCH cheaper at about $2200. They are also only 19kg. The faces are sooooo beautiful! But with a 4'8" frame, that is 3 inches shorter than what I accept as a bare minimum height. BUT it would mean a new wardrobe for sure. I would be looking at kids clothes. For something sexy it would mean dancers outfits. But then again, most of my outfits for Eryka ARE dancers outfits.

Yeah, that is the reason why I didn't like the long wigs. They shed and got all in Eryka's face. Well, if you like this is the link to the curly wig I have for Eryka:

As far as I can tell, nope she can't shrug, but there again, Rob at Pipedream said she has ankle movements but I can't get that to move either so who knows, maybe I'm just not brave enough to force movements.

And yeah, earlier on this post I mentioned it's disappointing how most TPE dolls have poorly made fingers while cheaper dolls like Dagmar and Textile got that down to an art. Both Cammy and Jewel still have perfect, strong finger after a year while both my TPE ladies got finger issues within 2 months.

No shoulder shrug on Stephanie, huh? Lately I am seeing that more often. I think WM is doing it too. But like I said, I pretty much have written TPE off. Also it seems that in terms of silicone dolls, Sanhui and DS have addressed the finger issue. Not sure if Z-one. I love the Z-one faces but the dolls are so darn heavy. But they have some nice wide shoulders.

Not sure if I met Blue Beard yet, but it is very sound thinking.

I agree I am almost 6'3" tall. I think Eryka's height is perfect because she is the same height as my wife. However, I will go down to 4 '11" since I had a girlfriend that short before. But, I doubt I would go smaller than that.

It is a shame that Textile Doll doesn't have better heads. The bodies look good and are more detailed than Dagmar, but I just prefer the Dagmar silicone head. I like to kiss Eryka a lot! So hard plastic is a no go for me. These new EVO dolls from DS are amazing looking. The faces are the best I have seen so far. I have seen the ExLite went down to a mere $400! That is pretty impressive. But I know that doll is only good for posing. Still the new insert I have for Erika is not as tight. It might work on the ExLite too. At that low price it is tempting, but the ExLite is size xs, so that means a new wardrobe for sure.

The Exlite is 163cm, so she is tall. But I guess you mean small by thin. That is a trait with most dolls from DS. Even the regular 163cm model is on the thin side. I do hear you there, though. I do prefer thicker arms and legs on a lady. The whole lower half of Dagmar is much more solid looking than most of the DS line. Even the new EVO line are thin. BUT They are curvier. They put more details on the EVO line and even for being on the thin side, they are attractive looking. Granted in your case, if you can handle the weight, Z-one is a better choice. The bodies have much thicker arms and legs than DS and like with Dagmar and your Stephanie, they can take regular clothing. Z-One has this one Asian head that is so realistic looking and so attractive...I almost bought her. But she's an 85lb doll. But that was one I really fell for big time. GORGEOUS dolls. And yeah, Z-one does have the self warming system, but it is something you have to be careful with as I have heard some disasters with that. But if you are there and constantly monitor the temperature and have a backup safety (timer shut off, etc), then you should be fine. Yeah, I was after the 160cm B cup. The shoulder span is an impressive 40cm. Their 170cm doll has a 46cm shoulder span. That would be sheer heaven for me and a really nice height too. But the weight...50kg. Ouch...that's 110lbs. Only really strong guys would be able to carry that one around. LOL!

But at only $400 for the DS-Exlite. It is tempting. But I have heard stories that the doll is more of a mannequin for posing as having sex with the doll always destroys the area around where the insert goes. If that area could be strengthened, it might be a good purchase. I figure if I put $400 in for the doll and another $400 for a modest wardrobe. That is still way cheaper than any other realistic looking doll. She does have nicely contoured legs and arms. The downside is the darn seams, but I have seen the Exlite in very tight shiny stretch leggings, and she looks pretty hot. Further if a joint goes bad, you can replace entire arms and legs with the Ex-lite. I am very tempted to try one. As with Dagmar you really only have one face choice. Well, there are two heads, but it is the same face one eyes open the other eyes closed. The eyes open face, is alluring. I know that wouldn't mean much on your end. But I am saying she does have a pretty face. I would say her face beats Dagmar, (in terms of looks, I don't know about feels). But your Stephanie still has her beat.

Well, she would be a good posing doll. Harem has one and he uses her for posing only and she does take some nice shots. That doll does have a nice pair of legs and I think she only weighs 8kg. But that is fine because a doll that light is very easy to change clothes on.

Her whole torso and lower half is great. I am very happy with the breast size I have chosen. I usually like B cup and Eryka is C, but really pushing a D almost. It is just the way the breasts come over the abdomen area, it enhances that whole area because her waist is so narrow. So I have gotten used her breast size. Yeah, she's got a good butt too. I have a friend of mine that is a girl. No not a girlfriend, just a friend. She knows I have Eryka and when I showed her pictures of her, she immediately became jealous of her butt! Another thing is that the Dagmar doll has a nice back curvature. It is always nice running my hand down that curvature and then it flares out to her her hips and butt. VERY nice.

I have to say that they (Happy Doll) came so close to hitting the mark here. If they had more head choices and a better skeleton, this would be the ultimate in fabric dolls. Granted if Textile Doll used Silicone heads, they would be the ultimate.

Well for the most part I am going to continue to keep my eyes out as to what is going on here. Outside of the new EVO line from DS Dolls, I have not seen much new out there. If anything, like I said, I am tempted to try out the DS Ex-lite. But first I have to buy a house. Then I can finally take Eryka out of the box again!

I guess that relates to how you carry them. I was astonished myself that I could easily pick up and carry my 135lb wife, but when I went to check out the 80lb bags of cement to test...I immediately said, "No Way." Even the 60lb bag was a bit heavy, but more manageable. The 40lb bag was no problem. So I knew that my target weight was in the 40 to 60lb range. Naturally Eryka is lighter yet. But I was thankful for that because I didn't keep her in 'her room', which was empty. I brought her upstairs into the master bedroom. That was where I took most of the pictures of her against the wooden doors of my closet that was in that room. The closet downstairs is actually right under that bedroom, so I literally carried her through the whole length of the house twice over since the staircase was on the other end of the house. Had that been a 60lb doll, I probably would be winded. Naturally when I get a new house. I am going to have her in a closet in a den area on a lower level, so then it would be a trip from the closet to futon. But even though I would have less of a trip to carry the doll, I still would like to keep her lighter because of clothes changing.

The more I look at it, at $400, the DS-EX-Lite does look like a very good deal for a second lovely lady. I could use her for posing and fashion work and then just get busy with Eryka. Of the two Eryka would still have the more shapely body. But the legs of the Ex-Lite are really nice, especially the lower legs. I saw the Ex-Lite in a skit tight leather pair of pants and the doll looks shockingly very good. Do the same for her top and you really don't see the seams on the body. I am curious if the 'feel' is right. If you press on her abdomen, does it feel like a real woman? I know that she has VERY visible collarbones and more visible shoulder blades than Eryka. So there is a higher level of detailing. The downside is that when you bend the legs and arms, you do get the foam skin 'wrinkling', but if you have the aforementioned skin tight outfits on her, it is not noticeable.

Once I get a house I might go this route. It is just that I have to be smarter with clothing purchases and get more items from the thrift store. We will see though. I do really like the DS-167 EVO, but right now it is new and very expensive. Perhaps down the road the price will come down.
