Import duty - SexySexDoll
Import duty - SexySexDoll
I am shopping around at the moment and noticed that on the website it states an import duty of $130 is payable in advance just for residents of Norway and UK only, but not for any other country?
is this correct, and does this apply for placing orders on all other websites, or is this specific to SexySexDoll as they are based in HK?

At the moment doll sellers MUST PAY Tax for Norwegian and UK customers in advance to speed up the custom clearance.LL Cool J wrote:Hi

For those other countries, especially European countries, you can choose either we pay the import duty for you in advance or you want to pay by yourselves when the shipment arrives. There is NO DIFFERENCE where the sellers based. Some of the European sellers want to make their European customers' life easy, so most of them will pay the tax for their European customers in advance, therefore, their SELLING PRICES will be higher because they have an extra cost.
We are selling at a lower price, yet, we split 50% of the import duty with you!
Where the sellers based DO NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE, all of us ship worldwide. The only difference is a Europe based seller speaks your language.

Re: Import duty - SexySexDoll
I'd like to add some corrections.
All vendors running a business inside the EU sell including customs and taxes. EU consumer protection laws do not allow EU-based vendors to sell at net prices, or without including import fees. It's the law, and different laws apply for businesses operated within the EU or outside the EU.Sexy Sex Doll wrote:Where the sellers based DO NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE […]. At least for the UK this does not apply to EU-based vendors. The UK is still part of the EU, and shipments within the EU are considered domestic. For domestic shipments, there are nor customs fees, and the applicable VAT rate is determined by the sellers country - in Germany it's 19%, in other EU countries it's 25%. So yes, there is quite a difference where vendor is located.Sexy Sex Doll wrote:At the moment doll sellers MUST PAY Tax for Norwegian and UK customers in advance to speed up the custom clearance.

Sure, but many of these promises of handling import fees only extend to the actual import fee. VAT surprise comes when the item gets stuck in customs.Tomoe wrote:VAT is a part (the greater part) of import duties to the EU.dullahan wrote:

It does make one difference though. Some EU vendors can ship to their country first, which means not having to deal with my own customs. Even though EU customs have an union, there are differences. For example, my country started to be stricter towards sex dolls due to discovery of childlike dolls being imported.
Now having a German store shipping to their store/warehouse first would mean that the EU vendor would deal with the customs 100% completely before the doll would even be shipped to me. Not even dealing with my country's shitty customs. Then it would just be shipped via domestic shipping to me.

Yes you can do this, but the cost is massive, unless you want childlike dolls and don't mind the added costdullahan wrote:Nice!Sexy Sex Doll wrote:Yes we are able to help EU customers to clear import duty + VAT in advance, that's why we said where the sellers based DO NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCEdullahan wrote:What about VAT?Sexy Sex Doll wrote:Just to clarify, all dolls from WM or other manufacturers shipped from China, not within EU, so they are not considered domestic shipping.

Doesn't cost much to ship domestically really. Most expensive to ship from China to EU.Sexy Sex Doll wrote:Yes you can do this, but the cost is massive, unless you want childlike dolls and don't mind the added costdullahan wrote:Nice!Sexy Sex Doll wrote:Yes we are able to help EU customers to clear import duty + VAT in advance, that's why we said where the sellers based DO NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCEdullahan wrote:What about VAT?Sexy Sex Doll wrote:Just to clarify, all dolls from WM or other manufacturers shipped from China, not within EU, so they are not considered domestic shipping.

If you want to import childlike dolls here, you'll need to use coyotes or whatever they are called when they smuggle things to Europe. They are not getting through customs and every time someone tries to import one, us other doll owners will get trouble in customs.
