Question on 6Ye 150 B/D 2nd generation updates
Re: Question on 6Ye 150 B/D 2nd generation updates
Hello ; i have a 150D since end of december 2018 what kind of updates are you talking about ? if i can help ?wct62 wrote:I have been looking to see if I could find any confirmation that the 150 B/D Premium models have the 2nd generation updates implemented yet but all the info I can find is from mid 2018. I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a 150D Premium, but want to be sure prior to doing so. And if not is there a concise list somewhere of exactly which models have been updated so far?

Doesn't seem too me they've solved the ball joint knee problem yet.
Just an fyi
1st image is the actual doll that had been ordered. You can see the bend they had to put at her knee for the doll to do a "stand" These images better depict the problem (although the following images were not of my actual doll but they are current "stock factory" photographs.

Agree.Thndrrbolt wrote:It appears that a simple hinged joint would be more appropriate for the knees than a ball joint.

Sadly, this is not an option with 6ye. Evidently all their dolls are now ball jointed.
Unless a 6ye rep or vendor would like to chime in and correct me.

Like most manufacturers they adapt new things in their doll frame without telling anyone, so at least in the Amor dolls and 167K I have not seen this to the degree seen in the above pic and I'm pretty sensitive to defects like that.
below, 167K - late 2018 skeleton design - same as Amor doll

Funny you mention that. Jeff had also advised me of this and the doll that was ordered was supposed to have had extra tight knees (among a few other extra tight joints). None of those order demands were met in the pre-delivery photographs and that was the primary reason for killing the deal. Personally, 6ye earned my distrust.wct62 wrote:I have figured out how to remedy the knock knees problem. When you order your doll from 6Ye you have to ask for them to make the knee joints tighter. Jeff at BCD advised me to do this last night. I had totally forgotten about it until I just reread his email. I'll just have to wait and see if this does fix the situation. Hope so because I really didn't want to have to prop her up and name her Eilene.
Frankly most if not all the China manufactures have done so. For my money I've decided not to make any new doll purchases until I see (substantial) improvements in the industry. I'll stick with the used market as the financial hit for a product I KNOW will be sub standard is less of a sting when purchasing used.
Can't help but wonder if manufacturers actually follow these threads? "Can ya hear me now?"

I have no idea when these photos were taken. But 6Ye has already upgraded the knee joints, the new 6ye doll won't stand like the one in the last 2 images anymore. They made the modification quite a bit of time ago and I think they have mentioned this news on TDF before as well.Dollyman25442 wrote:I had one of these on order but killed the buy as the factory stock pictures that were sent displayed the continued standing problem where the knees have to be "splayed" for the 6ye's to properly stand.

They have a really good relationship to the manufacturers, get fast in contact with them to solve problems directly or change something shortly.

Here's the video 6ye sent me demonstrating the knee joints (that were supposed to have been "extra tight") to insure proper standing.
The video speaks for itself.
