Stand adjustment

Post by TJ_Foxx »

Hey TDF Bo toy owners!

I need a little assist. I just got a tripod stand for Tasha and I can't seem to get the adjustment right so her feet are almost touching the floor and the back rest is in the small of her back. I can position the rest correctly but the lowest I can get that position is with her feet about 6" off the ground. I'd like her have her stand as close to her natural height (4'10) be as possible and not be 5'4"

The only thing I can do is lower the brace that hold the neck bolt hanger; but if I do that, I can only replace one of the screws to secure it to the stand. :|

Yes I read the directions. They suck. Is it possible they sent me the wrong stand for a Boy Toy? Or are the stands the same for all RD body types and BT's?

HELP!

From the RD website.

Just to confirm it's the same one.

Description

This is an adjustable tripod type stand, which means it will collapse down to a very compact size for easy storage and/or transportation. The doll shown in these photo is a Boy Toy, but with proper setup, the stand is sturdy enough to support the largest and heaviest RealDolls (body 10 and the males).

I'd pm a member w/ a RD or BT w/ stand setup and/or email Abyss.

hope you get a solution asap.

/g'day.

Thanks- yes it is the same stand- I got it directly from Phoenix Studios (BT) and yes I have Pm'd a few members I know, waiting for their response(s) Meanwhile I thought I'd put it out to the large group as well.

Sorry if this is basic, but is the safety pin removed (there is a set of holes, and a safety pin that goes through the pole to make sure if the friction clamp fails she won't fall).

Yes, pin is removed everything is as low as it can go. I'll post a pic later.

TJ I too could not get Azures toes to reach the ground at the lowest setting. Even she's doing a ballerina pose.

However I have come up with a solution. It's a little complicated, but it solves other issues at the same time.

Problem - A floating Azure

Pad at the lowest setting, note the pin is not supporting anything
Stand at lowest-Back.jpg

My solution is to raise the floor around the stand

An 8" high spacer

I took an old 2' x 4' shelf and cut a slot for the leg
Stand Solution - Step B.jpg

Azures feet now touch the floor
Stand Solution - Step C.jpg

Now the stand is raised so the pin is in the second set of holes and the pad can be set much lower
Stand Solution - Step C Back.jpg

Next I covered the old shelf with a green sheet, I also covered the front leg. I do have another sheet for the back legs and a cover for the main support pole, jut couldn't find them.
Stand Solution - Step D.jpg

If I ever get around to learning Photoshop I'll be better able to add backgrounds (I think)

Final solution also gets Azure up so that she's almost eye to eye with me.

Oh it looks like Azure wants to play, see you.

I actually thought I'd be missing out if I didn't get the stand they make. With the current stand I have, I get the same result anyways. :)

thx Oosik.

As I am very impatiently waiting for my BT body 4 to arrive in December, I have been thinking about ways to bathe her. One plan, is to install a hook in the ceiling above my bathtub, and run a cable with a hook to attach to her eyebolt. Is this a good plan? How strong and secure is her eyebolt? If it slips out, she will be severely injured.

Now that is what I call an "on top of a box" solution! Seriously though, Oosik. Brilliant job, mate.
