In fact it was a GREAT time to order...at least until last week!
(They were on sale.)

So, jokes aside, why is a very sad time to buy a teddybabe?

i agree, great price march madness...... however personal experience tells a much different story.....

Apparently Teddy babes are having a hard time. They have slowed down alot, and i blame it on inability to customize, product has changed very little and if there is no budge room for willing to pay customers, theres definitely an issue.

this product is a gem in many ways, i feel someone should take it to thee next level, be it Eigth Wonder or mattel... be true to your customer , keep up with demand. Its time for Teddy babe to step up......

but there is another side to this.....

1. its super tough to have a business
2. its super tough to have a business in the US
3. its super dooper tough to have a business on the East Coast
4. Its super tough to have a business that is so NICHE its the definition for Niche in the dictionary.....

the biggest problem they have is they put their best salesman out of business. if they were smart they would bring midiman back.

midiman owned the teddy babe store in canada for years and was always willing to help a customer with any problem they had and made sure to answer emails ans PMs quickly h worked out the best deals and lowest shipping possible. eighth wonder put him out of business because he was out selling them and they claimed they were loosing money because of it. most of eighth wonders problems are from poor customer interaction a lot of the time they don't answer emails never answer PMs from members and just treat the customer poorly, they also waste a lot of money on models no one wants. just my opinion based on my experience with them and the complaints i have heard here.

Good points juncharted. I also can't help but wonder if this recent sale was due to business not being that great. I have no idea how many Teddy Babes they sell, but I know that I hardly ever see any in the sales section anymore. Certainly not like I did years ago. Either people are happy with their Babes and aren't parting with them or there aren't as many being bought as there were in the past. I suspect it's a little of both.
I also can't help but think that all the tpe dolls that have flooded the market over the last few years has had an impact as well.
But one of the biggest problems with Eighth Wonder is that they don't advertise. Most people have no idea that Teddy Babes even exist. Especially if they don't visit this forum. I know that I had never heard of them until I started lurking here.
It doesn't matter how great a product is, it will never sell if people don't know about it.
So not only does a company have to let people know that their great product exists, they have to tell people WHY the product is great. And most importantly, why it's so great that people NEED it.
Eighth Wonder definitely has a great product, but it needs to be promoted a little more aggressively.

Yes, unfortunately for TB, you can buy a full size TPE doll these days for the same or lower price than their 900 demand for these plush lovers.

this is what i mean....
they have so much potential but its one of those things i believe someone else will and can imporove in the future, whether that will happen or not is looking bleak...

These are all good points and while I wish I could rebut most of them, I can't. My current doll fund is for a Teddy Babe right now. The reasons being, these dolls are the best ones for me due to weight and them being life sized plus I think they're adorable. I love their faces.

All that being said, I have to agree that it doesn't seem like there's much promotion other than other owners or sales. And I noticed that there were some models discontinued (If I'm not mistaken) that some people might still be interested in. Plus, I've seen comments where someone wanted to PAY to have a custom creation made and they refused. I don't understand that. If someone has the money in their hand ready for this creation, why pass that up?

My sincere hope, is that nothing bad happens before I get my money saved. And I have a long way to go, seeing as my little fund hasn't even reached a hundred dollars yet lol.
