Girlfriends are for guys who haven't found the right doll yet.
I feel much better now that I've given up hope.

Re: Can Teddy Babe make a voluptuous doll?
of course you could buy a stock teddy babe and have a third party remodel her to your specs just check with 8w to see if you can get extra material first and if they recomend anyone that can do the work.
it would be too costly for them to rework a doll the only custom work they do is changing eyes, lips, finger and toe nails, pubic patches and wigs any thing else is up to you.
one of TDFs members SATE used to do some work on them you could send him a pm to find out if he still does.

Although I would love a thicker Teddy Babe; I don't think it will ever happen. I think the only way that Eighth Wonder would do this would be if they could be certain that they could sell enough Babes to be worth the effort. Sadly, I'm not sure if there would be enough interest.

I've seen some pretty thick Textile Dolls. Trying to modify a Teddy Babe like that though would be quite the undertaking. Unless you really knew what you're doing I don't think it would go well.

I'm in total agreement. I asked them about doing a bigger doll ages ago and they just flat out said no. It's a massive shame, I really wish TeddyBabes would come out with new (bigger) models and even one with a decent skeleton like some of the modders have made.flying42 wrote:With all the advantages of a fabric doll, I would be thankful for a Teddy Babe with some more stuffing!
That being said I can understand why they don't.

example: each to there own as they say
I would like to see a bigger boobed/bodied variant of all the dolls, tbh i would like the standards to be taller/bigger thats for sure
My Yomi is small being only 3ft 10in tall(46 inches/117cm), she is a first gen TB standard which im told she is on the smaller side of the hight scale
but she measures up well in the boobs department (32in/81.2cm over-bust, 21.5in/54.6cm under-bust) from what ive been told she is on the bigger side of that scale

I have made so many posts in the past about this, I too would put my order in for a Teddybabe deluxe chubby.flying42 wrote:i contacted the vendor, who replied with the proprietary rights to the color of the material, they asked how much i was interested in, but i could not even purchase so much as a sample. seems like a dead end.
The only real way is to find a used TB to be the donor, but it would be slightly more involved than cutting equal sized tapered strips to add to the leg seams, a strip tapered to the neck and as wide as the but panels to be added in.
Though, If you look at Sate's work, he has done breast enlargements in just this manner.
TB velour is not stretchy at all, this is how it retains the shapes and gives the material strength.
I did manage to give my Carly slightly more voluptuous but and hips after my skeleton mod, but I'm not sure exactly what it was that achieved it, apart from adding extra fill to her but pockets and hip/thigh area also reducing it in the belly and waist for softness, her hip frame is very rigid not flexible like the original wire.
I also gave her another opening to be more user friendly in all positions, this might have relaxed her groin seams and allowed her but cheeks to flare slightly, possibly all of the above.
Pete.

Re: Can Teddy Babe make a voluptuous doll?
The screen name came from my youth, I cannot elaborate as this would be against the no religious discussion rule, except to say my actual name is the same as the best known Archangel as bibles portray, so to have events surrounding me and incidents with family and friends throughout my youth from 7 years old to around 30, been enough to warrant this nickname.flying42 wrote:Thanks for the info Ark Angel. How did you choose your screen name? I don't think modifying an existing teddy babe is feasible unless one was able to acquire two of the same model at the same time, and the cost of one is quite enough for the materials involved. I have minimal skill at tailoring, but am pursuing a multi-layered approach to forming a flexible skin over foam musculature using heavy vinyl screen and shadecloth as well as polyester fabric. I will also have to work out the seam patterns and compatible adhesives.
You can pm me if the details are of interest.
I have been lucky enough to have aquired two of my 3 TBD's for the price of postage, so it is stil possible to get a bargain babe, the only trick there is getting the same skin tone, although I believe member and acomplished doll-smith "Cuddly", (Teddybabe Lian's husband), has had some success with dying the velour, as it does fade a little after a few years.
Your Ideas sound interesting, a flexible skin will make it easier to compensate margin for error when forming joins and will require less pannels to achieve shape, therefore (theoretically), it should be easier to produce the more voluptuous figure you desire and adjust it accordingly.
My only observation would be to perhaps use fabric with minimal stretch, as similarly designed dolls have had issues with sagging and sliding skin.

Hiflying42 wrote:The vendor said that the fabric was indeed dyed by them, which would explain the variation. I have bought a few yards of material occasionally to try out from online sources, and I have yet to find a suitable color and texture. Polyester is nice and smooth, but it runs if snagged. Felted material is soft and hides seams, but it tends to pill and doesn't age well. Some kind of high end peach skin like the dakimakura fabric might work, but it is really expensive. I'm surprised that there aren't more offerings of realistic sexy pillow people with porn stars on them, the technology to print them is there, but the rectangular body pillow shape is very limited for a bed-partner presence like a TB. Actually any fabric at all in a realistic skin tone seems impossible to find, which is again kind of surprising, since pinks and flesh tones are popular colors. There is a spandex or lycra bodysuit available, but it is very thin. And the stretchy factor has to be just right. I was thinking that an underlayer of padded material with stretchy panels only where needed would be attached to non-stretchy areas that don't bend, but would be soft from the fill. A good point to consider is keeping the stuffing in the right places, which would require pockets of fill or foam. But I am also looking at how material that slides as the body moves could be an advantage, even for silicone or TPE skins, rather than filling all that volume up with weight. The real skill would be working out the wrinkles and sags by carefully restricting movement, by internal strings, springs or even magnetic tape. Back to the drawing board...and Happy New Year!
I hope you will have a bigtitted teddybabe in future.
I love to hug my deluxe.
may is dubble joy with your.
