Re: I have questions about fabric dolls

I just sent a question do Doll Studio (DE) to see whether it would be possible to get a happy doll with a WM-connector. Now curious whether I'll be getting an answer ...

You know, that wouldn't even be that hard to rig. M16 bolt, block of wood or metal plate to hold it inside the neck.... Question is, can WM match a flesh tone to the fabric color...?

Haha, well played.

I couldn't find it, but as I mentioned I know this isn't the first thread to discuss putting other heads on a Happy Doll, although I don't remember the particulars. If anyone knows what I'm talking about they should link it as there may be useful information.

It's too bad Happy Dolls don't have their own sub-forum. They can be kind of tricky to learn about for that reason. I don't have one or anything, but I've always thought it was an interesting concept to have a fabric doll with a realistic silicone head- which Teddy Babes also followed with the new Ultra models. I always thought there was room for a full size but yet lightweight doll with a realistic face. Don't get me wrong, I like my Teddy Babe's face just how it is, but a lot of people express interest in something more realistic. Before I got to know her I even had some similar concerns myself (although it didn't take long for me to get attached to her).

Hi Here is Nicola to show how she is made, her head is silicone, there was an error made and I recieved a white skin tone head which I have been using powdered makeup to put some colour to her face, she is due for a revamp
I have measured the thread 16mm and also I had a small jy doll for a while and the jy head fitted the thread but was to small for the body.
Her body is the 160 s from Happy dolls which usually has the anime head.

Hullo, Nicola! And thanks, Matt! That bit of good news is a clincher of a point for me.
Everything else was pretty much falling into place about the Happy doll.
Going to give it a little more time to be sure, get past the Christmas season, and to make a space of her own to rest in.

I'm kind of surprised about that too. And that more vendors don't carry one or two varieties of them as a mid-range sales option between inflatable/foam dolls and silicone/TPE models. I suspect it's a good time to start investing in these textile-doll makers, given the seemingly burgeoning interest in them.
I know I'm about to invest in the product... :multi:

Yeah it is strange. Most vendors do not show them. But most of them do sell them. Even my vendor had removed them from his shopfront for a while. I asked if he still sells them and, yes no problem at all. Maybr they are more for the asian marked.

Good call, Matt. The more this subject has diverged into other doll brands other than Teddy Babes, the more guilty I've felt about posting my questions here. I started with TB in mind, but the thread has gone off the topic of this forum, specifically.
I'm open to any suggestions as to where this sort of discussion (comparison and contrast of textile doll makers and products) should be moved to. (I'm still learning my way around here. Not only new to TDF, but new to being in a forum/board like this, too).
Anyone?
