I'm a fan of Sheba too, and I ordered her I'll let you guys know how she is. Did anyone else order an Ultra?

In the meantime, I asked Eighth Wonder a few questions which were partly based on some of the concerns brought up here. Here are their answers:


Q: Aside from the face/head and other silicone parts does the Ultra model have the same body as the Deluxe model? Have there been any improvements to the skeleton, articulation, etc?

A: Our new Ultra models have bodies that are almost identical to our deluxe Teddy Babes. We realize that certain members of TDF have been suggesting that we improve the articulation in the skeleton; but, given the plush nature of our products, we're still working on how this can be improved, and so we don't expect any new design options to the immediate future. Still, we have improved the latitude of the wire skeleton in the legs, which make them easier to spread for enjoying missionary position. This is further enhanced (we think) by our new Ultra silicone vagina insert.


Q: Regarding the head, how heavy is it? Is it comparable to a TPE head or built differently? Does the oral cavity go down towards the throat or up towards the top/back of the head? Does the head have the same range of motion as a Deluxe model which could turn it’s head but couldn’t look up or down?

A: While certainly heavier than the plush heads of our Deluxe dolls, the silicone faces of our Ultra dolls are not very heavy at all. We have had some customers ask us if the weight of the heads makes their necks floppy; but that is not the case at all. They can support their heads with no problem; and their heads also rotate on a pivot joint (just like our Deluxe models), allowing them to turn from side-to-side, which actually makes enjoying oral pleasure a lot easier from different positions and angles. They also retain the wire in the neck, which is how all of our dolls can look up and down. Their heads are actually a combination of plush and silicone --the faces / fronts of their heads being (for lack of a better word) a type of "mask," which is built into their plush heads. Also, as you guessed, their silicone throats (or cavities) go back into their heads (about 5 inches), not down their necks. And, as we say on our website, the silicone that they are made from is ultra-soft (but also sturdy and durable) and completely skin-safe. Personally, I like the quality of the silicone better than TPE, but others may disagree of course.

I have a feeling I'm really going to enjoy Sheba. The 155cm Shannon from my sig was amazing but it's difficulty in storing, moving around, and maintaining proved to be too much after a while, and I could only really enjoy her in oral on her knees, doggy, and missionary. The 100cm I got a few months ago is really nice and I like how she's light enough for cowgirl but like I said in my last post the eye pops out during oral and her vagina's a bit too tight. Since I own a Deluxe Bianca already I know what to expect in terms of how Sheba can be handled. I see myself enjoying oral lying down, cowgirl, doggy...easily switching between all positions. And while I think the regular Teddy Babe face is cute I definitely prefer a more realistic face.

Doesn't look like a "cheap inflatable head" to me by any stretch of the imagination. If the realistic heads aren't your thing that's fine, but it's a bit insulting to your favorite love doll maker to compare their creation a "cheap inflatable head, no?

As for your other criticism about the head being made from a different material than the body...well, I guess I just find it interesting. It's not insulting like your first statements were so I don't have a problem with it. I guess it's up to the buyer on what parts they allow and not allow their love doll to be. I'm just not sure why the genitals can be silicone but the face can't be. If a silicone head on a Teddy Babe Ultra is like a woman wearing a fleece suit then why is it okay for the Teddy Babe Deluxe to wear a fleece suit AND a fleece mask? Is it just that they need to match? Then why is it okay for a fleece Teddy Babe to have silicone vagina and nipples sticking out? By your logic, wouldn't that have to look unnatural to you as well? Again, not bashing anyone's personal preference, just trying to understand it.

As I already said Eight Wonder gets bashed by the Teddy Babe lovers no matter what they change. The Teddy Babe crowd owns the pretty much perfect doll and every time something is changed they get fearful that their beloved doll will be no longer produced, this time it is the fear that the beloved plush head with it's cute face will go away. Of course it will not (Eight Wonder, can you hear me?).

Well I didn’t think I’d be the first to post pics, but here they are, along with my review (first one I ever did on TDF) for my new Sheba TBU.

Before I say anything: FULL DISCLOSURE: I’m a big fan of TBs and was one of their very first customers. I’ve had an email relationship with Dave at Teddy Babes for many years and I do consider him a friend. I did ask him ahead of time if they’d mind me doing a review of my Sheba and presenting both the pros and the cons as I see them and Dave encouraged me to share my honest feelings. So that’s what I’m gonna do. Here goes:

I chose Sheba because she’s definitely the sexiest of their three new dolls. Overall I guess I’d have to classify her as a kind of hybrid. I never personally owned a silicone doll (though I spent time with one on a trip once, long story) and she’s not really like a silicone doll, but more like one of my TBs but with added benefits. The combination of a plushie doll with silicone parts is nice but also a little odd, just as many people on here have already said. I think it will probably take some getting used to for some TB fans. It’s an unusual aesthetic (Dave’s own word) but I’d say that so are TBs in general (with their cartoony personalities) and I think how a person sees them depends on their imagination and their ability to fantasize. If you are like me and have a good imagination then TBs (all TBs) are amazing when it comes to both imaginative companionship and to sex. My Sheba (I renamed her Athena because of her classic Mediterranean looks but I’ll stick with Sheba for this review) definitely requires less imagination. She is much more realistic than a regular TB and staring into her realistic face and kissing her realistic lips is a big a step up. But she does still have a body made of plush and so she’s not exactly like a real woman. This is where some imagination needs to come in. But at the same time her plush body gives her a whole lot of cuddliness and warmth (I’m sure more than any silicone doll) and this is why I think most of us love our TBs in the first place. So she’s a hybrid but a really nice hybrid.

Her body is basically the same as the other TBDs I have. There doesn’t seem to be any real upgrade on the body as far as I can tell. The company says they improved the legs and I guess she can sit in a chair a little better than my other dolls can and the legs seem to spread just a little wider too but it’s still basically the same body. Maybe I’ll notice more when she loosens up. Right now she’s still kind of stiff like all TBs are when they’re new. I do really like my Sheba’s black toe nails and finger nails. That’s a new color option for TBs. I thought they would be dark burgundy like my Jessica TBD but they are actually black. Like others on here I assumed that the silicone head would be very heavy and make her neck floppy but its not. The neck does flop a little (if you shake her) but it holds up the head fine and her head can turn to the side on a joint just like other TBs can.

Her face is absolutely beautiful! I especially love her profile which is classy and sexy at the same time (a real Greek goddess and why I named her Athena). I think they did a great job on the sculpting and created a doll with real character and personality. The silicone skin color matches the color of her plushie body fairly well (it’s a little lighter but not much) and the paint job of her makeup is well done but a little shiny in places. Maybe that’s because she’s new. She has dark red lipstick (it sometimes looks black in photos but it’s very dark red) and purple eyeshadow giving her a real seductive look. Her dark blue-gray eyes are gorgeous and probably my favorite feature. I think her eye color is a really nice touch because dark hair brunettes usually have brown eyes and most dolls you see with blue eyes have light blue eyes. But these are a dark, smoky blue-gray.

When I first got her my first reaction was that her mouth was way too small. But that turned out not to be true. Her mouth is actually very stretchy and can open really wide. In its normal position it is open only a little bit and can even close all the way because the lips sometimes stick together, though they don’t stay that way for long unless you hold them there. But she doesn’t have any kind of open-mouth goofy look like an old fashion blowup doll. The posts on here that keep saying that are just wrong and very unfair. There’s a good amount of room inside her mouth before you get to the throat. The throat starts with a little silicone hole at the back of her mouth and goes about 6 inches straight back into her head. The throat is very snug and stretchy. But I’ll get to its functionality a little later.

To be honest the head is kind of odd. I’m not saying it’s bad, just odd. In a way it’s kind of cool I suppose. I mean the way it’s designed and put together. The front part (the face and the sides of the face) are all made of silicone but the rest of the head is plush and looks just like the back of the heads of my TBD dolls. The silicone face is attached to the plush at the sides and bottom of the head. So there’s a nice blending between the silicone and plush material there and it looks like this is done with either very good stitching (so good that I can’t even see it) or it’s glued together somehow. But there is a really visible seam or separation line (not sure what to call it) at the top of the head that differentiates between the silicone and the plush material. This isn’t very attractive but I guess it’s not meant to be or meant to be seen because it’s covered by the wig. I asked Dave at Teddy Babes about it and he says they did it that way to help the wig stay on and I guess that’s a good reason. In fairness, when her wig is on and in particular when her hair is down, I really don’t notice much if any difference between her silicone face and the rest of her head. So the seam or line at the top is a non-issue at least for me.

My only real criticisms of her face (which I’m otherwise extremely happy with) are that her eyes seem a little far back in her eye sockets, though this is only noticeable from certain angles. But I think they could have done that better. And her ears and ear lobes don’t stick out very much from the sides of her face. She came with a pair of earrings but, because of this, I don’t think I’m going to have her wear them (even though she could) because there’s not a lot of lobe to pierce and I’m honestly scared of ripping them. Maybe a nice pair of stud earrings would work better somewhere down the line.

Her nipples are fantastic! As they say on their website the silicone nipples are soft and stretchy and suckable and really do give a nice quality to her big soft plushie boobs. I purchased a pair of their latex nipples a few years ago for my Carly but I didn’t attach them and didn’t really like them. They were too hard and didn’t enhance the plush. But the silicone nipples definitely do for some reason. Just like the face they are attached totally flush and without any kind of noticeable seam to my Sheba’s boobs (either with very good stitching on the back or maybe glue) and they’re very strong and durable. These puppies are definitely not coming off! If I ever get another TBD (I may replace my Carly at some point), I’m going to ask them to make her with silicone nipples too because they said they will attach the nipples at the factory to a TBD for an extra charge.

The new silicone pussy is another great and long-overdue feature. I’ve used a few different kinds of silicone strokers in my TBs over the years. My personal favorite is (and still remains) a FleshLight mod but the new TBU pussy is a close second or third. Who knows maybe I’m just a creature of habit and need to get used to it more. It does fit in my Sheba’s hole (and the holes of my other TBs too) much much better than anything else. So it does look good visually. One thing that I did notice, which isn’t really a criticism but may be an issue for some folks on here is that the new TBU pussy is kind of loose if you just hold it in your hand. But when you put it inside a TB, it gets pressed together and becomes nice and tight, since I guess that’s what it’s made for. I think it would have been nice if the labia and clit were sculpted with a little more detail, but I know I’m being picky.

All of my Sheba’s silicone parts are very soft and stretchy and great for what they’re made for. They definitely didn’t skimp on the quality of silicone because it’s better than a lot of silicone toys I’ve owned (but it’s not better than Fleshlight). I’m not sure how it compares to TPE dolls because I never had or even touched one of those.

So how is she in the oral sex department? Very nice. Her lips are very soft and cushy (which also makes her a fantastic kisser, both lips-to-lips and on other places) and her throat (which I’m guessing is some kind of soft silicone tube that runs into her head) is very snug and textured and gives good sensation. They make a big deal on their website and in the little booklet that came with her about how the light weight of the doll helps with oral, but it’s really true. You can move her around very easily during the act until you find just the right angle for you. Personally I prefer to be flat on my back with her on top of me. When she’s serving me like that, the position of her eyes (the seductive look in them) is very, VERY sexy.

To be honest I have yet to cum inside her mouth. I’ve always had a little problem in that area even with real women. So I can’t comment on how to clean out her mouth and throat. She came with a nicely printed color booklet that gives point-by-point instructions for how to clean her and it seems pretty simple and straightforward. Her silicone pussy cleans up very easily, just like other ones I have. She also came with a little bottle of corn powder to keep her clean from dust and other crap that silicone picks up all the time like static electricity. This is another gripe I have (though I guess nothing can be done about it) that her face and nipples are like super dust magnets attracting all sorts of lint and hair. And even the hair from her wig is always sticking to her face. I suppose this is just a thing with any silicone doll but I think it’s a real pain in the arse! Maybe I just need to get used to it.

In conclusion I think my Sheba (Athena) is great and I’m very happy with her. I may even get another one someday (I think the Robin doll is cute). Would I recommend TBUs to someone else? Sure! But they are definitely a “different animal” than the classic TBs or full-body silicone dolls. For the same amount of money I could have bought a nice TPE doll I know. But for me, weight and storage are real important factors. I also travel for work seven or eight times a year and taking Sheba (Athena) with me is always an option and would be pretty easy to do. I don’t see myself doing that with a TPE doll.

One last word of warning though: Maybe it’s just my imagination but my other TBs all seem kinda jealous of Sheba (Athena). So if you get a TBU, please be sure not to neglect your other babes.
