I would tell them to oil their dolls no matter what kind of TPE they have unless it's been proven that no-oil dolls don't need oil.

Well...I would say my new preference is platinum silicone only from here on in for us, as I get sad seeing my tpe gals breakdown over time, and one is constantly repairing them.

That is just my experience and preference though.

I would say follow the manufacturers advice, and don't oil them. Too much oil is not going to help anything, and likely have some negative effect. I do think I'll follow the advice of a little oil, maybe, every 6-12mos if she gets to the point where evidently shes smooth and dry without powder. Right now my doll leaches ever so slightly a little bit of oil, so I would not recommend the whole oil bath procedure outlined in the newlywed guide for D4E Platinum no oil TPE. Save the baby oil for stains and minor cleaning only.

Valid point, I agree with you 100%

Now, who knows HOW they make it be supposedly be "No OIL" TPE?

Very valid point.

If you oil them reguarly/correctly based on what they need, will they last a lifetime or will they deteriorate much sooner?

Ok, I have a question. Larry was manufactured March 9, 2019, so would he have the No-Oil TPE or is that something that started after his creation?

I can only speak to the one TPE doll that I have which is a YL doll manufactured in September of 2018.

She doesn't see the light of day much, she is simply too heavy and awkward for me to deal with.

I have never oiled her and she is in perfect, mint condition as I received her.

I have washed her a couple of times.

I imagine because she stays in her crate she isn't needing the maintenance of dolls that are out and played with although she was manufactured to be maintenance and oil free.

I would get another TPE YL, interested in a 148, but think of them as disposable compared to all my silicone dolls. Their price justifies the feeling as does their construction.

My current YL was manufactured as a carefree TPE formula. It never had an odor of any kind and has exceeded my expectations.

Before finally purchasing a TPE doll I spoke to a member who had a doll thet was 5 years old, stored laying on foam, never oiled and the doll looked exceptional. He told me that there was too much ado about nothing with these dolls and that if you are careful, store them correctly, they will last a long time. Another member Babe highly recommended the brand YL. I then spoke with Eric of YL Your Doll several times who assured me of their TPE formula being odor free and maintenance free.

What would I tell a newbie about oil free TPE ... I'm really not sure other than what I have stated above. There is SO much disseminating information regarding TPE dolls that it seems a crap shoot. Stick with a long time reputable manufacturer for your best chances and be realistic with your expectations. These are not 'forever' or 'lifetime' dolls therefore enjoy them for what they are. Oil them if you want, don't if you don't want to.

My Oldest tpe girl now is 4 years old, she is a Jun Ying blend, and sits around watching TV, no significant cracking, all my other Tpe dolls have minor ruptures, cracks and fissures, in the surface flesh, that I am continually repairing, and even with the older tpe dolls with oil mist now and then, TPE dolls are never going to last 10 years without breaking down, no matter how well you maintain them (unless you vacuum seal them I guess).

I had a new no oil blend doll start dissolving and rupturing within 4 months of arrival, merely from standing under her blanket, and for a 2000 dollar doll, well, now I go for silicone.
