I'm waiting for a few things from these folks. 1. Address and/or fix issues pointed out in the review on TDF. 2. More heads/faces. 3. A price drop, to put them in line with some of their Chinese silicone competitors. 4. The addition of a functioning anal orifice. 5. A small breast body.

Crap, typing all that made me realize I'm going to be waiting a long time.

The usual reasons...time and cost to manufacture. Its a pretty competitive market and they all want to produce their dolls as cheaply as possible.

Nearly always takes one manufacturer to make it a standard or optional feature, then everyone else jumps on the bandwagon.

Great to see BCD finally taking the plunge. Really hope its not long before articulated hands become a standard feature...or at least a common option for both silicone and TPE dolls.
Currently owned: OR Doll 157cm "Kitiara" (avatar photo) || JY Doll 153cm "Natalie"
Silicone...TPE...its all good...

The soft TPE or silicone will push right though that open plate.

I take it those plates are probably just laser cut so why not make the design more anatomically correct?
Something like this would be much better...

I'd also be concerned about the sharp side edges as people will push on the sides (red arrows) to rotate the hands.
If plastic can be used, perhaps a realistic shape could be attached to the metal frame that would imitate the feel of the metacarpal bones and cover the sharp side edges.
highly agree. Soft TPE and hard edges aren´t and never will become friends. The more if considering most ppl surely use their dolls for the more intense stuff and less for careful posing and photo works. But well thought out hands/finger designs should be prime priority for any manufacturer, right before stable yet easy posable skeletons and LH placements. :glou:

This is really cool. Honestly I didn't see this as the next evolutionary step, figured manufacturers would start molding something like a plastic ball on the ends of finger wires before articulated hand skeletons became a thing so they really should be commended for being brave enough to take a full measure.

These are the Gynoid Tech ones.

Getting them into cheaper TPE dolls will be the challenge, but the manufacturers could introduce them as a cost option - I've already suggested this to JY,
My girls:
Sophie - JY 175 (JY Head #167)
Valentina - JY 175 (JY Head #101)
Kiania - Sino 161 (Heads S6 & S7)
Rashona - WM 172B (WM Head #64)
Helga - JY 166 (JY head #101)
Patsy - JY 166 (JY Head #102)
Ingrid - JY 166 (SM Head #76)
Monique - JY 165SR (JY Head #134)

Heh, I'm not the only one then. I linked posts about these hands to other manufacturers too, but silicone ones. Who knows, my bad pun aside, maybe this actually will finally start the digit race we've all been waiting for.

it's worth noting that these new metal hands are better than Gynoid Tech's last iteration of articulated hands (which were already an improvement over wire fingers)
The older version could not spread the fingers side to side, & may also be plastic skeleton I think?

Not sure if GT is upgrading all models prior to 9 with these newer hands, would be helpful information to know.
