Re: articulated hands
It's kinda silly too manufacturers have been dragging their feet on it. They charge extra for a shrugging shoulder, standing feet options, tongue options. Who wouldn't pay extra for hands that don't fail almost immediately?

Re: articulated hands
And maybe it's just my experience with martial arts, but I would think it easier to rotate/bend the skeletal hand if there were a plate in the center of the palm area. Place your own thumb in the center of the palm, a finger or two on the back. Very effective for manipulating a person's hand for joint locks. I don't see a reason it would not work with repositioning here as well.

Re: articulated hands
The soft TPE or silicone will push right though that open plate.
I take it those plates are probably just laser cut so why not make the design more anatomically correct?
Something like this would be much better... I'd also be concerned about the sharp side edges as people will push on the sides (red arrows) to rotate the hands.
If plastic can be used, perhaps a realistic shape could be attached to the metal frame that would imitate the feel of the metacarpal bones and cover the sharp side edges.

-princeoverit. One vendor name kept coming up as being great at helping customers walk through the process, Booty Call Dolls. So I decided I would work with them on this first purchase, and did.
-Just in timeYou could not of found a better person to help you with your first doll. Jeff /Booty call dolls, knows his stuff... One of the few members that is a vendor and a real lover of dolls. He owns quite a few dolls, and really understands the love we all share.

Re: articulated hands
On the areas you have arrows pointing toward, perhaps just a bit of foam tubing cut open on one side and slid over it to make it soft and not sharp. Kind of like a miniature version of the padding they used to put on bicycle joints to reduce the likelihood of injury.MannequinFan wrote:Hey Jeff, those fingers look very promising. However I agree with Mr C - I think the folks at Gynoid need to review human anatomy a little on that palm plate.

Like a tiny version of this stuff.
