My first ever doll probably hasn't left the factory yet, though she should in the next day or two. I think she may already have more clothes than I do.

Yes. It can be. There are places to help ease the pain though. I use Amazon Prime for all my clothes. Clothes have free 30 day returns for any reason. So time consuming, but i end up with just what i want, without any other added hassle.

Almost everything I've got has been 2nd hand bulk lots, a few bits from charity shops like salvation army, and there's a recycling place at the local tip that sells books, furniture, bikes, toys, etc, etc. They don't want to sort, price & wash clothes donations, so they simply have some massive piles of freebies, and a few things have caught my eye. Have probably averaged under $2/item. And bought a few new bits when I visited outlet warehouse that houses ~40 different stores to do some regular christmas shopping. I generally prefer a casual, everyday look to being dressed up for a night out, and as far as I can tell large kids or XS ladies clothes should fit her pretty well, so I keep finding good options. I know I've gone a bit overboard, but keep deciding things will look good, suit different moods, etc. Will probably end up with 10 different versions of very similar casual outfits once I go through it, and I'm sure I'll end up with maybe 20% of what I have being used even semi-regularly. But the shopping itself has been kind of fun. And maybe she'll want to get dressed in something different every day. I have a feeling I'm underestimating the effort required to get her dressed/undressed so much, I can't wait to find out.

Whatever doesn't fit, or ends up unlikely to be used, I'll either try and sell for $10 for a bulk lot, or simply donate back to the charity shops.
