88 vs 92 vs 102 vs 117 vs 120 vs 125

After long (LONG!) consideration I have narrowed my search to a choice between a Sanhui and a JM doll. Before making the final choice I would love some advice from those more experienced among us if you're willing.
I am looking for a small doll with stiff joints, ideally in the 110 - 125 cm range, that doesn't look like a child, but also does not have ridiculously over-sized breasts. A doll that looks like a proportionate young woman, but is easy to store and handle.
In the past I've had:
* 65 and 75 cm:

Both were too small
* MLD (too hard and lacking detail, and a crap skeleton)
* 100 WM - body proportioned wrong - too thick for height, not really like an adult:

* Virgin Rode Doll - That was a great doll, but still too small/short and lose joints:

I have also had the 156D and 140D from WM. Loved them both, but I can't afford the storage space and the tax on my back when moving and washing and so on.

I find Reiko (120cm):

most attractive and best fit for me, but I can't find it on the Sanhui website, so I assume it is out of production.
Price is a consideration too, but not the ultimate factor. And there are so many choices!
So the 88:

cm are VERY close in size, but $200 apart. Why?
The 92 vs 102:

are almost the same price, yet 4 inches in size difference. Again, why?
Between 102 and 118:

(a little over 6 inches) there is a $600+ difference, so there must be some other considerations besides height that come into play.
Is there still a safe vendor that anyone knows of that still sells the 120 Reiko?:

Pricewise Sarah, Reiko and Elfie seem to be in the same ballpark ($1500-1600). Are there significant differences in skeleton construction or material used?

Does anyone have any experience how any of these (over 100cm) Sanhui little ladies compare to JM Dolls' 110cm Lucy or Joey:

Are there any other 110-125cm models with stiff joints and relatively normal size boobs (ideally scaled b or c cup) worth considering?

I know these are a lot of questions, but I also know there are many very knowledgeable elders on this forum who love to share their expertise, and it is greatly appreciated.

As far as the price jumps, my guess would be that it is the same principle as weight. Because taller also means wider, very extra inch in height adds more material than the one before it. Going from 118 to 120 cm will cost much less than going from 160 cm to 162 cm.

Fishermen who weigh their catches know a fish can be double the length of another fish but anywhere from quadruple to dectuple the weight.

Boinky, I commend you for your research and presentation.

I remember reading somewhere that the smaller Sanhui's don't have the ultra solid/sturdy skeleton of the bigger Sanhuis (like 145cm and up). I'm not an expert on the smaller Sanhuis so I'll need to find where I read this.

the DS Mini has the plastic skeleton which is a major disappointment for me. Maybe that's why you aren't even considering it. I also see you are limiting yourself to silicone mini dolls. I think I should buy a TPE doll just to experience it first hand.

TDF now says I'm now a "Senior Member" In my profile. I find this amusing. I'm getting experienced definitely, but I don't consider myself a senior person here by any means.

You are right about Sanhui skeletons Robert.

Anything below the 145 has a wire skeleton.
Now jm dolls have a steel hinged skeleton on the 130cm and up. Plus their 130 is pretty lightweight compared to say a Sanhui 145 or JM 142. It's very noticeably lighter. I have felt/ lifted the 130, so that is how I know.

My Sanhui 145 cm definitely has some weight. I can't believe such a small doll can be so heavy.

What about Piper 100 CM or WM 100 CM? Do they have quality skeletons?

Absolutely a rookie. There's so much to learn every day. I'm just doing my best. I admire all of you who can fix these dolls and know every little detail about them. I'm not anywhere near your league and not sure I'll ever be. Some of you are deeply committed to this hobby. I'm still determining if having a collection of high end dolls is right for me.

The reason why 118cm Shanhui is a huge price jump is not made clear on their website. I found out that the 118cm has textured skin and you can also have gel implants in the breast. (The dolls is also crafted with better details ect). The smaller models can't have gel breasts (even though you can place an order for them to have gel) and also didn't have as much effort put into designing the doll.

I guess the Shanhui 118cm would be like a premium mini doll.

Vendor I would recommend is Miracle (dolls-castle on here). There is a good promotion on till the end of February - 4 customisation for free or another doll head for free. You also get -5% discount for being a member of TDF.

I'm a huge fan of JM and have some orders with them. I would recommend dealing with the manufacturer themselves because John from JM is extremely helpful. You will need to wait till Feb 24th though as they are on holiday.

JM dolls are more affordable, they come with a well known soft blend silicon and 110+ offer free customisation in a way (tongue, soft breasts) and you can also add lot's of clothing to your order.

Thank you for this comment. Actually, they (the DS Minis) have only a single opening and i can't find a verified US seller, so that is the reason i didn't list them. They look gorgeous, though, and that neck line...sublime.
Plastic skeleton is not great, but still much better than the steel wire so many of these size dolls have. I never had a 65 to 80 cm doll that didn't end up with both wrists broken, and I had 4 of them, it's just frustrating.

The textured skin and better boobs are a big plus, good to know. I am also strongly considering the JM, just too pretty. Thank you for the advice!

I believe the Sanhui 118 does have the sturdy hinged skeleton similar to the 145/165 frame . However the older 120 and 125 dolls had gooseneck hinges, the necks being particularly problematic.

This would explain the price jump .

There also a non elf version of the 118 featuring I believe the Sarah face from the 125, my favourite.

The Sanhui 145 is awesome too , we love ours....
