Quite unexpectedly, I am one of you now...

So, I guess I'm using this as my personal introduction post. I am now the proud owner of a Sanhui 165cm doll. And I say unexpectedly because I didn't order her for myself. Surprise Surprise...

My roommate and I have been talking about full scale dolls for a few years, myself as more of an interest in the potential of robotics and android bodies. There are some amazing advances being made and we both are excited to see what the next decade brings.

I've always had a bit of an otaku side, collecting figurines and artwork. Then Christmas a year back he picked a pair of Phicen's 1:6 scale seamless and that started an itch. So after picking up a nice pair of 1:6 scale outfits, my itch passed and our talks of the future returned.

He always entertained the idea of a full scale, but I never would have the extra cash for that, so I played along. He always kept me up to date on the latest products, and I was doing everything I could to stabilize my finances and start saving.

So here I am am, 2 months away from achieving my financial goals. At long last I can start saving money. We're just chilling out playing PS4 a couple days ago, when the doorbell rings. I'm in the middle of a fight so he gets the door and all I can hear is heavy shuffling. So I pause and go out to help, and I see him dragging in a 5 ft tall box covered in Chinese tape with a grin from ear to ear. So I freak out a little and congratulate him on his amazing purchase. And then... He goes outside and brings in a second one.

"Happy Birthday" he says... FREAKING HAPPY BIRTHDAY ARE YOU JOKING!!! I think I went into shock cause I do t remember speaking for about 5 minutes... But he says the look I had was great.

So I am one of you now... And once I get the 2 dozen Amazon orders I've placed then I'll get you all some nice photos. My itch has returned 9001 times worse than before, and I couldn't be happier.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum!
I have to say, I have read this several times in just a couple of days now. People who got a doll from a friend, or someone giving away a doll to a friend... It's like... is this for real? Friends like this actually exist? I have never had a friend like that, not even close. When I was about 10 years old, I had a friend who treated me to a snickers bar, this was over 20 years ago and I STILL remember it... but uhm... I'm happy for you, NightTremorPanda.

Congratulations !! And welcome . We are glad to hear how happy you are. Your friend has been very excited to get get both your girls . You truly have a good friend there.

Absolutely. Once I get some clothes and accessories I'll be posting more. The last 3 days of my life have been dedicated to women's fashion. I think I've spent more on her in the last week than I have on myself in the last year
