Technical issue "Site can't be reached" flashes before page

For the last few days there have been glitches before a page is displayed. Is anyone else experiencing the same?

The error page shows for around 1/10 second before the main page shows up, and many photos don't load without reloading the page, and upon answering a post one gets the error message and has to resubmit twice. The problems aren't apparent on http://www.bbc.co.uk or http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk

This site can’t be reached dollforum.com is currently unreachable.
Try:

Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
ERR_SSL_VERSION_INTERFERENCE

Please post such problems here in the Help forum. I will then receive a notification.

From the error message I assume you are using Chrome. Searching that error gives some hints that it is most likely a browser issue. But can also be a server issue.

Can you please try the following:

update Chrome to the latest version
clear the browser cache
check extensions, do you have any extension influencing your SSL connection?
any firewall or virus scanner?

I will check the SSL/TLS configuration of our server.

I was getting this a lot yesterday, to the point of it not being usable - then for some reason when I tried to access the forum (or the dollalbum, or other "adult" type sites), I got redirected to my mobile internet provider's page, telling me I was barred from Adult Sites. Having already gone through the rigmarole of verifying my age years back, I now run everything through my VPN, and have had no issues since.

Changing to Microsoft Edge solves the problem . So it's a Chrome issue

It would be nice to be able to use Chrome though in the future

It's very strange. With Microsoft Edge I thought the problem cured but when I went to post a reply it failed, and I lost what I'd written.

So it wasn't a browser related problem.

By the way yes I have tried firefox but migrate back to Chrome.

The problem now seems to have disappeared so clearly there was a connectivity problem along the way. I reset the router and this might well have helped also.

Any particular reason? I'm just curious why people like Chrome so well.

Also, I've had some connectivity issues myself lately, but it's been an issue with my internet service provider, CenturyLink.

The seamless connexion with Google Translate is very handy. Firefox no doubt has something equivalent but Chrome works.

Potentially resetting routers can help. DNS caches probably lead around the houses if a routing changes.

I see. No, Firefox doesn't have an integrated translate tool. But a bookmark works for me, or even typing the first few characters into search box, "tra.." and the top suggestion is "translate". But I know people love Chrome so there has to be something alluring about it.

I've experienced this during certain hours, around 7-9am (Central European Time). Could be scheduled maintenance of servers that temporarily cuts down on bandwidth/connections or whatever. I've seen other forums do similar things.

I always use VPN and Opera browser on this forum.
