Use of lipstick on doll

Hello all doll owners.

I need some advice please.

I have taken many photos of my doll Kim which I share on Facebook but one thing my friend pointed out is that she doesn't really look realistic in some of my pics and suggested maybe trying a bit of lipstick?
My question for you is, is lipstick used by really women safe to use on a doll too?

Yeah, just about any lipstick and/or lip gloss works fine. Tip: get a small tip brush to apply it, just don't glom it on from the tube. And go easy at first.

Yup. I find the kind applied with a brush somewhat easier to use and the moisture resistant variety a bit more durable, but other than that, lipstick/gloss is pretty safe to use on TPE and easily removed with mineral/baby oil.

Use a q-tip to apply. or brush

I use makeup pencils waxed/oil based. They're cheap, they last and are easy to use.

I've used palette lipstick applied with a small disposable makeup applicator.

They're generally two or three toned, so take your time.
