You don't need friends like that.
They weren't your friends to start with; if they were, they'd be there for you and accept you for who you are.

While I understand and respect her view, I think letting the kids (26 and 23) in on it would help take out the mystery of why my "music room" is always locked.
This brings up an interesting question: When you and your wife are gone, are you concerned your adult children will find them and judge you after you die?

Interesting question. I have always kept my doll in a locked box, with instructions attached that it should be delivered unopened to a specific friend (who happens to be very understanding). If my instructions are followed, neither my wife or kids will ever learn about it. If they do, hopefully they will understand.

Short answer to Stepford: No.

The only way we'd both die at teh sam etime is in an accident which involves some sort of fiery plane or car crash, if we are both gone, who cares?

If I go first, we have a plan. My wife has the names and numbers of my good "Doll Freinds" and instructions on what to do with them. If she goes first, I will remain discreet but not overly paranoid. And have written instructions on who gets contacted to take my girls

Either way after I am gone, who the hell cares? As long as the girls have a good home.

Great thread. I just started here so I missed the conversation while it was going on.

One thing I would like to add is this saying. "Those that matter don't mind, and those that mind don't matter." - I believe that holds true when were are talking about people that judge and people that don't. ;)

I just keep mine in a crate in the closet. This is for two reasons. 1.) Yes, to simply avoid negative judgement from visitors and the ensuing fallout and 2.) I have an apartment and would be afraid of some emergency plumbing/leak issue occurring where maintenance has to enter my apt when I am gone. I'd be afraid they would call the police because they mistook the real doll for a dead or catatonic schizophrenic person.

Hearing these stories of how real people operate with regard to dolls and doll ownership reminds me of why I got a doll in the first place and spend a large amount of time with it alone. Social hierarchies and freedom are antithetical.

Storage solutions, modify your sofa, place doll under cushion area. Working on specifics, removing springs underneath, reinforcement of doll arrival box using a wood frame around it so it fits in the 1.6 foot deep hollow a cross bar hinged lid so when someone sits they have support.

Theory wise who looks under sofa cushions,

Giving people a place too find naughty stuff makes will sate there curiosity, men rarely will look past a vibrator and lube, feminine hygiene products.

Women probably won't look past handcuffs, lube, and a few pornos.

I live with my dad and my male doll too. I don’t even have a lock on my door. It’s hard to have to hide them. I hope it will all work out for you. It’s kinda nice for people to at least know even if they do judge cuz at least they won’t find out by accident or something

a doll is a huge commitment even if you can afford it
