I've been looking at the RD options for male dolls and thought I'd share some thoughts
I like the fact that there is a more rugged face (A) and a couple of slimmer, less masculine looking ones to choose from (B and C). But I'm not sure if it's just me or faces B and C look sort of alike, maybe it's just me.
I would definitely love to see a couple of exotic male faces: namely an African-American or biracial male face and an Asian one. There seems to be at least some interest in Japanese-looking males, judging by some of the posts/threads. I would probably make the faces not too rugged but also not too feminine, that way buyers can make their dolls lean toward either of those extremes by customizing it.
If the doll's facial features are way too feminine, that makes it impossible for people to make their doll appear credibly masculine (no matter how they customize it) which will be a turn off for those who are into rougher features. Similarly if the doll is way too rough looking, the opposite problem will be faced by people who want their doll to look more androgynous. So I would say a doll that is halfway in the masculinity spectrum would work the best and please the most potential buyers.
For example, if you put a beard and a crew cut on this guy, he will probably be able to appear pretty masculine. But he could also be made to look quite soft/feminine if given long hair, eyeliner with no body or facial hair plus a twink body type:
Whereas this guy will probably never be able to look masculine, no matter what customizations are used:
The same would apply to the African-American male

Truth be told, I prefer Charlie/Male RD 1 to the newer ones not only because of his build, but I prefer older/middle-aged men. The dolls that are available these days just look to young and "pretty" for my tastes. So I would recommend, like some of the others, offering a variety of masculine faces as wel, all the better if you had some older/mature ones as well.
I agree. It would be nice to see a more mature yet handsome face, say someone in his 40's.
Here's someone you can't go wrong with, although he could be a little rougher. But you can't really go wrong using someone like him as inspiration for a mature guy. He has a classically beautiful face
