I think it’s finally time...

Post by Wags1449 »

Hey everyone,

You can call me Wags if you so desire. Nice to meet you! I’m 28 years old living in the United States. It’s taken a long time for me to build up the gumption to join the forum here. You guys seem really cool from what I’ve seen and I look forward to contributing what I can, if you’ll have me haha.

I’ve always been a big fan of the female form and I have almost constantly been in some kind of relationship with a girl dating back to about 6th grade. I recently got out of a very serious 6 year long relationship and I can honestly say I have no interest in diving back into that pursuit again any time soon. That being said, over the past year or so I developed an interest in perusing images of these “love dolls.” It started out innocently enough, as an attempt to avoid looking at actual porn, but the more I looked, the more the dolls filled a void I didn’t know I had. Now that I am free of the shackles of my relationship, I feel it might be time to evolve to a higher level endeavor, as it were

I have not purchased anything yet. I really don’t know much at all about reputable sites to buy from or maintenance after buying. What kind of products to use to keep the skin soft and whatnot. Any advice at all would be awesome and greatly appreciated. I will say this; in my online lurking I think I have fallen in love with one particular model. WM 166 C-cup. It doesn’t seem to matter what head or skin tone is on it, that body model just seems to be the one, but there is a blonde haired, brown eyed girl known as Lara that might be my new obsession.

I’m sorry that was so long-winded. If you didn’t feel like reading it all, I’m Wags, and the WM 166 C-cup model - particularly Lara - might be what I end up purchasing. Anyway, thank you for your time. I hope to hear from some of you! :D

Nice to meet you, DG! That’s awesome that you have several dolls. I can see myself possibly having multiple in the future as well. But baby steps first haha. Thank you for the sources, I’m sure I’ll utilize them. Also, IKR?? WM 166c got me like 8O

You can't go wrong with the 166, she has one of the best rears that I've ever seen, as good as the pics are they just don't do her justice like seeing her in real life!

Also, welcome. :D

The 166C is near the top of my list too! Beautiful doll!!!

I'm glad to see you found the forum before you bought your doll. Much better to be an informed consumer. :) Looking forward to seeing pics once you get her!! :)

Welcome, Wags!

I'm new to this community and lifestyle as well. Don't think I'll ever look back, either. Do yourself a favor and heed the advice on reviewing the pinned topics about repair and maintenance. Some of it can be a bit intimidating, but if you take proper care of your 166C she should bring you many good years. I think the most important thing is to be gentle in posing her and take the time to figure out how her joints work together and each joint's radius of motion. Also, be mindful that keeping limbs bent more than 50% or so for long periods of time can result in stress cracks in her skin. Basically, easy does it until you have it down.

I fussed over Hadleigh for months and endured a long learning curve involving minor damages and tedious repairs, but these past 8 or so months I've only had to do basic skin care (cleaning and powder) and she's looking better than ever. I wish I'd have had her in my life long ago!

One thing that I did not expect was how much I would enjoy picking out new outfits, wigs, and doing her makeup. As you may have seen on the forums and on RLSD's website in particular even a subtle makeup and hair change can completely transform the face. I love the WM 188, but am also drawn to their 124, 198, 242, and 273. It will be fun to see which head(s) you select!

Again, welcome!

Hadleigh is a fair-skinned WM163C/#188, Harper (#124) is a medium toned WM164D, Kendall is a fair-skinned 163C/#398. All via RLSD.

Thanks, Rock! I definitely will do. I’m probably gonna spend a lot of time this evening reading up on that kind of thing. I have picked up on the fact that keeping the limbs straightened as much as possible seems to be a good idea. I absolutely don’t want to make any decisions until I’m sure I can take proper care of her. And I did not really consider the prospect of dressing her up and the makeup and the photography and even producing a tangible persona for her that can be conveyed even on this forum. The more I look into it, the more amped I am to dive in!

Thanks! You'll also figure out little tricks as you work with your doll. For instance, at first I tried to get Hadleigh to sit up by lifting from behind her upper back while pushing down on her thighs. That was rough on both of us, so then I just raised her legs straight in the air, put my forearm under her legs and pushed up from the nape of her neck and she rocked right up into a sitting position. It may seem like a no brainer, but the more you can get the doll's weight to work for you the better as long as you can maintain control and not let her get away from you. They can go splat in a split second if too many joints are moving at the same time.

For me, focus is the key. It's easy to overlook where hands and arms are when you're working with legs and feet, so before I go tossing her about I always take a moment to visualize where all her parts are and make adjustments to keep them out of harm's way.

I do keep seeing that everyone talks about how deceptively heavy they are. I’m not necessarily concerned about that, but I’ll probably just have to experience it for myself before I can truly understand the logistics of moving and positioning. I definitely don’t want her going splat

Welcome, Wags!

My advice to you is just to take your time with selecting exactly which doll you want. Nothing worse than rushing in and regretting a purchase. Either way we would love to see and hear about what you wind up buying.

Anything you want to know at all doll-related just post it and at least someone has an answer for you in the generous fountain of knowledge that this forum is.

Best of luck
Consistency is key
