Hello Doll Forum; I am a New Member - I Have an Urgent Ques.

Post by Dave-Loves-Vintage »

Hello Doll Forum!

I am Dave and I am seriously thinking of buying a doll very soon. I have been ALL over the internet and I have learned a lot recently. I am seriously thinking about an "In Stock" doll made by Racyme in China (like all of them except RealDoll?) and sold/shipped by SexDolls-USA in Texas.

Would someone please tell me if the Racyme manufacturer is a respectable one, and if SexDolls-USA in Texas is a good company? This is where I have to start, then I'd love to get involved in this fine Forum.

Thank You,

Dave

You might consider doing a search on the term 'racyme' and make a decision from those results. Then also consider only TDF approved vendors if you want to be sure.

I wouldn't say respectable, they copied the originals from wm. While the doll is being cheap, there may be faults later in her fixed design, as well if skeleton is welded properly. Its more like gambling... If you are limited with money, save for a irontech $1300 or jy or af or maiden...

Pray that that company has a good 30 day refund policy, be it amazon or ali. Inspect the hell out of it with boroscope.. skeleton moves correctly, if you can't manage saving double.

IMO Sticking with a TDF approved Vendor is the way to go when buying a doll.

Some vendors even offer payment plans for people on a budget etc.

Do use the search function for research on the brand discussed.

Owning a fake or a copy can be more headache than it's worth honestly.
Kindest Regards,
Naz

Use caution! If buying from a non approved vendor.

Oooh, buying a Rolex, not from Swiss, not from an authorised reseller ...

At a cheap kiosk somewhere.

Never mind copyrights, never mind quality.

Hey Dave, welcome at TDF :D
No offense intended, just a caution.

I purchased a Racyme 100cm doll last May, Anna. A local was selling a brand new one here on TDF. I purchased her for a couple of reasons. One to be a practice doll for TPE repairs when and if Anastasia needed fixing and two to see the quality of a knock off doll. After 6 months she already has TPE splits on her right elbow and left ankle. Also her skeleton has always been a bit stiff compared to my other dolls.

So basically, if you want a starter doll that my only last a year, go for it. If it turns out that you do not like dolls, then no big investment. If you do like dolls then start saving for a better quality doll to replace this one after it falls apart.

Another option is checking out The For Sale Forum here on TDF. Many dolls being sold that have been used very little or not at all by doll photographers. I got this pretty little lady, a WM 166c, brand new for only $1000 with an extra head. The owner got into a relationship as this doll was being made. He sold it the day it arrived. I have 5 others I have bought there, too.

I don't know much about Racyme dolls. I see them talked about here and there and it always sounds like a gamble to buy one.

I would follow others' recommendation and try to stick with a TDF approved vendor. There are some decent TPE dolls for close to $1000. Or save for a few more months and buy something good for around the $1500 range maybe.

Browse this site for info. and constantly browse vendor sites for special sales and promotions. You can easily save a few hundred dollars by keeping your eyes out for a good sale or promotional discount. They seem to come up pretty regularly.

I got my JYDoll for about $950 with special promotion sale.

To Everyone who has kindly responded to my first post: Thank You.

I am proceeding cautiously and have learned soooo very much recently.

I want to pose one succinct question now:

I think I want a WM doll from an TDL approved vendor... Should I (Can I) go straight to the WMDoll manufacturer itself in China... or should I (must I) buy through a TDL approved lower tier vendor? I simply don't know, so I ask.

Thank you,

Dave

Go through a vendor. The prices on the WM site are not cheaper than the vendors. Others will confirm that WM prefers to let the vendors do sales and they make the dolls, hence no price breaks on their site. Vendors will always have something going on with sales or free heads.

Also, with a vendor, if there are issues with your doll, the vendor will have your back on getting any issues resolved.

So which doll are you thinking about getting?

Thank you for your reply; it is a good one and I agree. I am thinking (and thinking and thinking...) about which doll... there are so many! So, which doll? Probably WM, YL or OR, probably 5' or a little under for weight concerns, and C or D. Which vendor? Again, there are so many but I certainly will read a lot more here on this amazing forum. I know I would pick a TDL approved vendor. Since a vendor will have my back (soon, not until I have a doll's back! ), I may go with a good, local vendor. Turns out, RLSD is very close to my location.

I've had my racyme doll for a little less than a year now so I can give some insights. The material is TPE but much more inferior to the material a WM doll uses. She's firmer and not as soft, the difference is significant. She is my first doll so I didnt think much of it until I touched a different doll. The joints are very stiff, I thought it would loosen up after a while but it didn't. Overall I thought she was fine for the price and as a trial doll to even see if dolls are even your thing, but i'd advise to upgrade to a better one if you have the funds and you're a bit more serious about it.
