this is a summary of what was going in the doll world in the 32nd week of 2019, as far as we at Dollstudio & DS Doll Europe were concerned.
1) New arrivals.
This week, one new head was introduced:
- Jinsan no. 316 head aka ›Rosalia‹ (YL Doll) - TPE
- New arrivals: YL Doll YL-171/L body style / TPE / ~171 cm / ~44 kg
Also, we have the New products listing on all three Dollstudio websites. It is sorted in reverse chronological order, so the latest additions to our portfolio are on top of the listing:
- Dollstudio US - http://us.dollstudio.org/new-products
- Dollstudio EU - http://eu.dollstudio.org/new-products
- Dollstudio DE - http://de.dollstudio.org/new-products
2) Changes to customization options.
Due to consistently less than satisfactory feedback for the heating and audio replay options by Z-Onedoll and Sino-doll, I am recommending not to base purchasing decisions on these (theoretically nice) customization options. The Dollstudio DE and EU sites do not list these options anyway since the electrical components lack certification we require over here; additionally, I am going to drop these customization options on the Dollstudio US site as well.
More or less the same goes for similar features provided by other manufacturers. So far, the feedback for audio reply ('sound') customizations as offered by several TPE manufacturers was without exception negative. Typically, these options have a poor sound quality, they can not be configured, updated or customized, and too often they don't work at all. Even though the costs for this extra are relatively moderate, most customers have considered it as a waste of money. From own experience I agree with this judgement; currently, Chinese doll manufacturers have not mastered electronics sufficiently.
As always I am open for proof of the opposite, with emphasis on the 'proof' part. If there is a doll manufacturer out there who fully stands by his heating or audio features, please show us a sample for review. Until then my general recommendation for the combination of Chinese dolls with electronics is: stay away, even though these features seem to promise some excitement.
4) Factory photos and shipped dolls.
This week, we had one completed doll:
- This Piper Doll Piper Real PI-162/C aka ›Jenna‹ travels to Finland
