list of "alternative" clothing for the full sized dolls

Post by komugi »

since Alex brought up about liking the "rennaisance" look ...I dug out an old list of clothing links, and added a few more to it

there are plenty of places to get the normal clothing for the full size dolls (normal human size)

but what about if you want your girl ... (or male doll if you have one) ... to look like a medieval princess, a faery, a goth chick, or a Japanese school girl or lolita

well ... here is a list of links to places that make those "other" types of clothing ... and yes, I did deliberately leave off any of the bdsm/ponygirl clothing sites ... I figure this list will get me enough death threats 8O from some of the girls once their guys see what is available out there :P

Since my Jazz is a classic Teddy Babe, there isn't much clothing that fits her without major alterations. If I had a full sized doll, however, I could just dress her in some of my own clothes for the androgynous goth look and would only need to buy some more feminine items, like dresses.

If you happen to live in a big city, there are always lots of places where you can buy alternative clothing. If not, well, there's always mailorder.

Gothic/Darkwave/Metal/Psychobilly clothing from Germany:
www.x-tra-x.de
www.art-of-dark.de (right here in Cologne, the owner is an old friend of mine)
www.aderlass.com (the name is German for "bloodletting")
Acomocliticism - interesting word indeed.

...
I can understand what you are saying about the classic Teddy Babes ... they are kind of an "in-between" size ... over the years I have seen pics of them dressed in various styles, but I dont know where the owners got the clothing for them

thank you for the links to the German sites

cool :D

however ... I refuse to accept any responsibility if your doll decides that the bath tub is WAY too small and wants a full sized swimming pool to play mermaid in

Kimonos are very traditional

try http://www.asianideas.com/ . . mostly Chinese, but some Japanese clothing . . source for kimono's and yakuta's

and if none of the other sites listed in the Japanese Sources and Ideas have what you are looking for ... you can always try http://whiterabbitexpress.com/ ... White Rabbit Express is a company in Japan that does special orders (they are the special order section of White Rabbit Press, that specializes in Japanese language study materials) ... they might be able to help you find just what you are looking for ... Max, Tomoko, Kimberly, and all the others there are very helpful ... Max and Kimberly are American, and Tomoko is Japanese, so you can contact them either in English or Japanese and they will understand ... I have been dealing with them for over a year, and they are a very honest and up front business

just know what your girl's measurements are ... you do not have to specify that what you are looking for is for your doll

and no I do not know if they would special order a Japanese doll for anyone ... the products they normally deal with are things you would get in a normal Japanese clothing, electronics, or grocery store

Wow, that's an amazing list Komugi! I finally checked this thread due to a question elsewhere about clothing sizes for specific dolls. Has anyone compiled a database of dress sizes for the various makes and models of all the dolls currently available? I haven't seen one done here yet and it seems like a really common question from prospective doll buyers.
