Jewelry & Piercings

Post by WBbaum »

Hi. I just ordered my first doll a couple of days ago. A 148cm TPE :)
I got some questions about jewelry and piercings.
Is it safe to allow her to wear jewelry at all? And if for how long?
I've had some cheap rings leaving green marks. I dont want that happening
to my doll for example.
Can she wear rings? Or should I avoid it?
Necklaces?
What kind of materials should I avoid

Can I pierce a TPE doll? If so what kind of piercings are safe to do?

Thanks.

My gal wears jewelry all the time. Don't tell her, but it's really cheap costume stuff. No issues whatsoever. I didn't pierce her ears for fear of snagging an earring while brushing her hair, I just use clip-ons, but she does have a pierced nose with a brass stud. Been there almost a year with no sign of staining.

not exactly jewelry
but was wondering how well press-on nails work on your gals, also does anyone know much about tattooing them.

Thanks for any help
hoping to get some knowledge before my girl arrives (once i ask her to come over)

Press on nails are designed to stick to your existing nails, so they wouldn't stick directly to the doll's skin. You'd still have to use nail or super glue. Sparingly though, a little is all it takes.

You can't tattoo in the traditional sense of course, but some have successfully used transfers, even drawn them on with washable markers. Probably find more on that by using the search box in the upper right corner.

Hopefully some one can correct me if I'm wrong.

I believe the doll's nails are pretty much just press on nails, so swapping them out shouldn't be a problem, but to be honest I'm not sure.

You can't tattoo TPE so TPE doll owners use temporary tattoos. Apparently they can last a fairly long time depending on wear and tear and when it comes time to remove them, they come off easily with mineral oil (which is what is used to oil your doll anyways).

Apparently you can give a silicone doll permanent tattoos, but I'm not sure if they are painted on with a special paint or permanent marker, or if a tattoo gun can be used with a special ink.

Jewelry seems to be safe it's always good to check before continued use. :D

I was looking at magnetic jewelry earlier. How good or bad of an idea is that magnetic clip on jewelry? Would you have to remove it frequently to prevent deformation? It probably isn't that strong of a magnet if you can use it on a real human face right?

Yes, I have not experienced any issues with proper piercings. I've had my TPE doll wearing them for over 3 years now, even during cleaning and oiling.

Just be careful with pieces that may get stuck in clothes or wigs. I've had my doll wearing a cheap chain necklace for extended periods too without stains, but I suggest you take it off during play and sleeping as the chain can easily cut through the TPE if it gets stuck in something.

Hi Nord,

I like the piercings you have done to your girl. I would like to do some to mine when she arrives, belly button and ears. I also noticed you had her nipples done, I hadn't considered that myself but actually really like the look on yours I might do that as well. So my question is how did you actually do the piercing and feed the jewelry through. I am concerned about causing a tear. I would also like to do small hoop style earrings (approx. 1/2 inch or 1cm diameter ring) in her ears and suggestions on how to accomplish that?
thanks
