If there's any member who feels a particular doll looks underage and reports it in good faith, it should be treated with utmost sincerity by the staff. Discussions on this matter don't need to be sequestored and it sure as hell shouldn't take two friggin weeks for staff to mull over a decision. To protect the forum, the process needs to be faster if borderline. I'm ok with a single staff member deciding a doll is underage and removing a post, but a single staff member should not have power to decide a doll is not underage on their own. Such a decision needs to go to committee and the post needs to be quarantined until committee makes a ruling. It can't just sit out there for the rest of the world to see becuase staff member B doesn't wish to overrule staff member A's unilateral decision. That's risk we don't need. (And yes, this scenario actually played out here this month, January 2018, and may have been the impetus to this whole discussion.)

If a doll is reported to appear under the age of 18, mostly the post will be put out of public view and the images will be discussed by staff. Normally it takes one or two days for staff to decide. It's never the decision of a single member of staff, it's a team decision, but no need to be afraid that we can't get to a decision. If there was such a case earlier this month, that was an exception.
If it's decided that the doll appears to be an adult, all is restored.

The graphic guide in OP is useful. I have been playing down my dolls juvenile facial features right from the start.
Here is some experimental makeup attempt (it went overboard) with shadowing under cheekbone, side of the nose and highlighting in the bridge. Irises have additional coloring.

Not painted but silicone. There's also movable tongue. It's Sanhui 145 face 1.
Both pics are the same face but show maturing by makeup.

Your dolls are great.

I completely agree with this standpoint. I cannot personally fathom why anyone would want a doll that looks 12.

That said, indicating age is more in the face and head than in the body. Average breast size in the US is B-C cup. Average height is generally speaking about 5'4" or 163 cm. But again, I have both seen, and personally know adult women age 18 - 40+ who are 4'7" - 4'11" or 140 cm - 150 cm (yes, I am rounding up on the centimeter,) and who have A cup breasts. However, their faces are matured to give a better indication of their age. I'm talking bone structure here, since it's difficult to show the fine skin details for dolls. Especially the TPE dolls.

Again, personally speaking, I would not want a doll under 140 cm. Because going below that does start getting into that very questionable range, unless the doll in question was made to look like she had dwarfism. In which case, the proportions would have to fit that affliction for me to even consider it.

If a doll doesn't represent a woman of at least 18 years of age, I very quickly move along. And even that is pushing it for me. Sadly, so many of the TPE faces that I like do look 18 or 19. At least Real Dolls have a look of 20-somethings, but they are quite a bit more expensive.

Anyway, I'm starting to go off on an unnecessary tangent. So, I'll just finish with - Good Job TDF, I fully support this decision!

We need to establish a definitive guide and standard on what's considered underage, and agree on it through polling and extensive work between the TDF Staff and the community. There needs to be a very open line of communication here, stop hiding in staff only forums...

It is not possible to establish a definitive guide as no matter how much science one applies, it still boils down to the human factor in making that final decision. To hold any kind of member poll on TDF as to rating specific dolls is not feasible for two reasons:
1) The size of the membership is far too great to poll each time
2) There is no question that a bias exists within the community. The human brain will automatically try to rationalize the decision that best suits the needs of the the doll owner.

As owners and very long time members of this site, we have watched it evolve. Manufacturers such as Realdoll insisted on applying basic makeup to their dolls that already looked over 18, just to be sure. Most looked in their 20's or older. We cannot recall any dolls that could be mistaken as children until the Asian dolls arrived on the scene. It is a different culture than the western culture. But with the trend of so many men gravitating to dolls that look young enough to be their daughters, it is no wonder authorities are clamping down. It also looks bad for our community as a whole as borderline WILL get bad press from the general public who will try to brand all love doll owners as perverts.

As to size of a doll, it does not matter if you mix and match different size dolls in a photo as long as the faces do not look very young and are on full featured bodies. But again, a doll with a young looking face on a full featured body, will still be perceived as under age by most. These days, there are a lot more 18 year old looking bodies on underage kids then there are 15 year old looking faces on adult bodies.

We have confidence in our large staff, formed from your peers, in making the decisions based on the added science in our first post.

If you disagree with our staff decisions, it would be possible to submit photos of your doll to the authorities for a ruling. If it passes their scrutiny you get to display it at TDF. However, if a doll is deemed too young looking by authorities TDF's only option at that point would be to ban all representations of that doll on our site. No matter how we rate the dolls here it is authorities such as Border Services that make that ultimate call. TDF owners and management do not endorse under age looking dolls, nor does our decision on what we allow here warrant that your doll will be judged as acceptable by authorities of the countries you live in.

Also, remember the true size of the doll is never the advertised height. They include the length of the foot as if they are ballerinas who stand on the tips of their toes. I measured my 170 cm to be 162.5 cm. That's a 2 inch difference.

Another factor is the real world Asian faces do not show the wrinkle, sag, and discoloration that European faces do. You put a 40 year-old Asian face on a 4' 7" body and it will appear much younger.

At 60, I have no desire to be with an 20 year old (or even a 40 year old) woman. Why get a doll that can barely pass for 18? You make decisions on what to fantasize about and consideration needs to be paid to your mental health - will this desensitize me to a lifestyle that I currently find unacceptable? I have trouble watching 4' 11" porn star Piper Perri because of her diminutive size. I am glad I am uncomfortable. There are only about 10 heads in production that I would consider definitely over 18. That should really change. Putting makeup on a 16 year-old to make her look 18 is not enough.

European country set to ban the common staple of Adult bookstores for decades namely the pocket pussy with molded-in arms, legs & face as "preemie-like" and "fetus-like" ....
News story at 11. .. seriously(?)

Curious as all nations have widely differing laws remotely related to the topic being discussed or Apellate Court, Federal Court and Supreme Court decisions that would be brought to bear on any controversy, how would one propose that dolls in their image be treated (20something women 3 to 4 feet in height with minimal bust size?

As the USA has legalized everything regarding political nude and erotic nude content regardless of the intent of the ultimate consumer and only proscribes Federally only explicit sexual & hardcore actual direct photographic place in time records of under 18s explicit sexual activity.
All else is legal in the USA and consensus being that the US Supreme Court will not revisit the Issue again. If any one in the USA attempts otherwise their is always the ACLU, Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, Free Speech Coalition, American Library Association, Electronic Frontiers Foundation, the Arts, Motion Picture and Nudist communities to bring them to heel for civil rights and 1st Amendment violations.

As to differences in law if in the USA for example pedophiles were to acquire the marketing. rights.for an underage doll made in the image of 17 year old Playboy Playmate Cynthia Myers centerfold though the centerfold is not considered Art it is still according to US law not illegal child erotica and any doll based on it would even if not determined Art as it could well be as skilled sculpture but would be virtually legal according and protected by the 1st Amendment as the US Court has repeatedly stated. In The UK however as the equivalent Mayfair and Page 3 17 year old. Playmates are not considered Art but an indecent image of a child after 2003 and any exact likeness of their centerfold likely an indecent pseudoimage of a child. And not subject to a bill of rights protection over there.

That would be a yes. Some of those big'uns do look kind of comical, but, you know, I maybe kinda like 'em anyway. I always wanted to have sex with Annie Fanny, lol.

You got pedophile rings that mega wealthy individuals and sports people like Sandusky hiding under charity programs for children running kids like a dating service and they propose legislation for ROBOTS???

Another fine example of this SWAMP in Washington DC we keep hearing about huh ?

LOL, search about the Podesta brothers' art collections. Use duckduckgo.com, not google. Google is starting to shift search results around for political reasons. Not dramatically yet, but they are clearly on the slippery slope. They ARE evil.

Australia . . . and USA are all seizing dolls . . .
Regarding the U.S.A. - are you sure of that? Can you provide a reference? AFAIK, the only CURRENT law on the books they could use would require that the doll be both obscene and pornographic. But I may be wrong. Of course, not all government employees know or care what the law is, and there is nothing to stop them from hassling you without cause. And usually there is no recourse. "Oh, sorry, I had to cut your doll up to look for drugs. Buy some glue, you perv." I'm thinking about one of those 1 meter Dolly Parton look-alikes, and just my luck, the customs inspector will be a rabid feminist. So I have a practical reason to ask if this has actually happened yet.

If you own a "child-like" doll then extinguish the urge to post. Simple.
Not everything you own can/or should be shared with the world. If you truly feel the need, then start your website/blog.
