I don't know if I would have noticed the radio without your advice. Athena is just too adorable.

So, what is it? Over a month ago in Astrid's thread you mentioned German radios.
So I did a Google picture search and I think I found it:
Grundig Satellit 3400, build between 1978 and 1982. It could be as old as I am.

Ha ha, Tsall you have done it again! Well done, yes indeed that particular radio is the renowned and slightly massive Grundig Satellit 3400. I got mine, actually from a seller in Germany, several years ago now before their value went up so high, now a Grundig Satellit in working condition can sell for well over £200 or more! Mine is still working, although a bit temperamental, it was the biggest of the Grundig Satellit line and with its huge speakers it sounds terrific!

With 9 kg I wouldn't call it slightly massive.

Ha ha, yes I forgot that it's 9kg! It doesn't get moved much! It was still described as a portable radio when it came out, I think it takes around 8 D Cell batteries but I just have it plugged into the mains, Grundig certainly made some wonderful radios and although modern dab does sound good (when you have a good signal) I still love the old transistors as they have a 'warmer', 'fuller' sound.

Ha ha, hi ColColt, I cheated, someone else posted about a thing called 'face app' so I downloaded it from the Google play store and gave it a go. It can look ok for some pics but with the free version you only get limited functionality, still it was fun seeing Athena smile!

Aha-looks real! I'll bet Rachael would look lovely with a smile similar. I've taken my fingers at the corners of her mouth and moved them to simulate a smile and it looked great...Temporarily.

Athena had been wanting to dress up as her favourite game character for some time now so recently she made me an ultimatum, 'get the stuff I need, or else'! I've got to sort out her ponytail but I think she's getting there!...
