Excellent choice. I just got a new camera and took a picture of my medium skin doll's torso. The real life color shows well from this snap.
I'm excited to put some effort in photo shoots once I get my new orders.

I don't find "light tan" technically listed as an option for WM dolls on most sites. Is that what most sites call "medium"?

I was initially going to order my doll with tan skin. Jeff at BCD sent me some pictures showing the difference between tan and "light tan". He also told me that tan is really dark, but may not seem like it on photos. I didn't want my girl to be too dark, so I changed it to light tan. After seeing that photo DexterQuest, I am so happy that I did, because that is just the skintone I was looking for. Thank you so much for sharing! Now i struggle with the oh so mighty WAITING TIME...!

Of the four lighter skin tones there is White, Fair, Pink, and Medium (aka Lite Tan). I'm going off the great chart at the BCD site.

Anyone know what skin tone this WM #70 is in?

I'm guessing it's either White or Fair. But everyone always says to go with Medium since White look unnaturally pale. Does Fair also look unnatural?

I'm concerned a Medium might look a tad too dark if trying to get an asian tone. If going down one shade, that's technically Pink, but I'm not sure if that's actually lighter. It mainly just looks redder, which also may not work.

I guess the root of my confusion is I've seen Medium and White, but no idea on Fair and Pink.

Worth keeping in mind is that the color can variate a bit from doll to doll, even if it's the same color-option. This because apparently the manufacturers mix it manually rather than by machine. There are several threads around here where people have received dolls with very different skintones even if all were "tan".

Medium/light tan is most definitely the safest alternative I think.

Personally I have the "natural" option on my 140. The tone of this can be very different depending on lighting and powder. It's quite hard to get a consistent skintone when photographing. Sometimes it looks more pink, and sometimes very natural and almost dull. For my next doll I want it slightly more tanned, but not too much, so Medium/Light Tan is probably perfect.

Here are two recent pics of "natural" for reference. No magic or makeup (except for eyes and lips), just a bright lamp in the ceiling

From those two photos, the skin tone looks okay to me. Or are those photos not when it looks bad?

Also, what is the "Natural" equivalent to? Fair?

You made a good choice. Light tan, tan, wheat color is the only way to go (in my opinion). "Natural" is too pale.

I always go with tan. I got some of the best shots with that skin tone.

Those shots were good ones, kind of a middleground between pink-ish and pale as it can look in certain situations.

"Natural" is the original name of the color from WM, which I'm sure you can request if interested. I'm not sure what some vendors call it nowadays. They like to confuse things. But as said, Medium/Light Tan is probably closer to what you want.

First you ask what skin color is best then you say this

Take medium (light tan) skin color.
You can change her skin color with baby powder both plain or mixed with powder makeup.

A couple years ago WM doll only offered Tan Natural and Pale White.
As I ordered my doll with RLSD I made special request to have a light tan skin tone.
Martine from RLSD helped me to get this request fulfilled and the light tan option was born as well as the areolas size option I had also requested.

Which skin tone do you think I should choose based on this? Thanks for any response.
