@JunkGuy, I think you're right. I started pulling more hair over from one side and it began to look better. I put that wig away and haven't touched it until I learn a bit more though.
@avante, I cut my lace off like I saw it in this video: (around the 35 second mark) I didn't have the wig on a stand or my doll, but I cut it the same way.

So I finally dared cut it:P
Did it also while not on a head / stand.
Tried sort of to stick close to hair line, like 1-2 hexagons apart.
Could have don better, but still, the final results first impressions are really good.
Does (seem) to look more natural (really just 2 minute review:D).
Anyway: thought I'd post some pics of my girl in her first front lace wig:
