I found this. Not sure the brand of skeleton or even if it is an actual “name brand”.
But it gives a good example of the taping. And a basic current joint structure.
Good pic of how they are made.

Any idea when a ball-joint skeleton will become available?

6YE dolls already use a ball joint skeleton.

It looks a lot like a 6ye skeleton to me. judging by the pics in the post above. I also think 6ye still uses a goose neck and non shrugging shoulders. May be an older 6ye since the joints are hinged.

No. WM uses u-joints in their skeletons.

I think ColColt was was talking about the last one that is a real closeup after the JY ones. that shows only neck and shrugging shoulders.

I have been told that these are not actually the skeletons used, just a mockup and that the ones in the dolls are "more high tech" But I don't know.. I have pinched and prodded my girl to find that they feel a lot like the pictures look. As far a joints and such go.

I also have been told that the WM and JY skeletons come from same factory, just diff specs. I can see that possibly as my girl has the "big" metal tubes in her thighs as well. *march 2018 production* But again. I have not been to a factory so I can't verify exactly.

I'm sure there is just as much Disinformation as there is information due to China's national past time is "Copying" stuff.
Hell who needs replicators from Star Trek? LOL

Ahh A fellow SG fan!! That's awesome!!

Yeah they did a great job on copying Sam, but I think I would like to reprogram her AI!!

Oh only problem with her though was Hellacious Finger pokes! (I guess even replicators can't do good fingers!! LOL)

this picture is only after two or so days of use....

mike-fish wrote:On the subject of joints, does anyone know of a diagram of a WM doll skeleton?

Is there a mid back joint to allow the back to lay flat?

How are the joints designed and would they loosen with oil?

Also does oiling a TPE doll (TPE only) seep all the way inside and oil the joints?

Sorry that's maybe a bit technical but I would love to know

:?
Hey Mike; I'm hoping to get that doll in your profile pic; she's just too cute! Please tell me this; with her knees bent, do the upper legs bend back more than 90 degrees? will they go back to her chest? TIA

I just bought the WM 157 and am wondering if the skeleton is ok to store by hanging from the neck with the hook , with something under the feet to avoid a total suspension.

Also, what size is the thread on the neck , what threaded rod size will I need ?
