But the pint of ale remained untouched and unaffected by the chaos around it! Very funny story! Thanks for sharing!mandos wrote:Ahh, my gear usually hits the “talent”, not me. Not long ago I tripped on a powercord, lightstand fell over and hit the doll, doll took a somersault over the edge of the bed and drags another lightstand with it, then the second lightstand falls over the doll. Nasty business but she didn’t complain - best kind of photo model

Re: Baby It´s Cold Outside (WM166 C)
However, I am intrigued by Mandos photos of the 266 head in this thread, in particular the amazing difference between the original shoot (did not appeal to me personally) versus the latter snow bunny shots (had to pick my jaw off the ground).
Firstly - thanks to Mandos for doing such great work on the promotional photos for WM dolls, your skill and creativity is crazy. Really helps capture the imagination, and gets you on a path to looking at factory photos and natural shots from other members to round out a balanced view of what is possible.
Secondly - if Mandos does see this post, I noted this was one of your favorite head designs. I was just wondering if you could elaborate on this a bit. She clearly seems to have responded well to the lighter tan look, brown eyes with heavier eye liner/shadow, and pure blond hair - but did it also require particular lighting and angles to achieve the stark change in doll vibe, or is it apparent even in regular/natural conditions.
Even though a doll is a personal thing, I am drawn to the idea that the 266 is less common and could present some interesting styling and photo opportunities. I put value in what you have to say about it (and other members too of course!) - there is very little said about the 266 that I can find on the net.
Cheers all - Michael

I was looking for what size this doll wears. Thank you for mentioning XS for her. I would recommend WM mentioning this in future picture descriptions. Also, it would be nice to mention if the dolls have a factory head picture beside the photoshoot pictures so customers can tell what they are getting & what is possible in the future with some excellent makeup applied.Cubiko wrote: ↑Sat Feb 16, 2019 7:34 am Hey thanks guys! We appreciate it
Hey AH and thanks for the praise! It was a cold and windy day and I only managed the first couple of photos with a flash before it all blew away, including the reflector. So I had to scrap that idea and then bam! the low arctic sun shone through some trees and lit her right up. I tried to work fast with multiple poses and angles but it resulted in a lot of weird poses and shots I am not that happy with, like the ones where she is lying down, and then as fast as it arrived the sunlight was gone and I was left with a dark blue mess and my flash gear covered in snow, lol. Eventually I thought this whole shoot went to hell and moved the party indoors the next day instead. Turned out some of the outdoor ones really went well after all. I really like her face in some of these.Alottahope wrote:Was this caught with natural sun or a flash? It looks like sunlight and you had to know the spot and time and be there set up and ready to get the 7 and 1/2 minutes of natural light you get up there!
Or a reflector could provide you more flexibility?
Yeah, going out "in the field" as a professional photographer might call it, unprepared, rarely give good results. Thankfully her outfit fit like a glove with zero adjustments, XS all the way. This shoot was sponsored by UnderArmour fitness wear btw.Alottahope wrote:Looks like the dress rehearsal paid off!

There are tons of photos of this head on this forum, do a search for "266" (the head number) and you will get a lot of photos where you can see other doll owners and their dolls. Such photos are much more informative than a dull and lifeless looking factory photo IMO. If you are customizing the doll you also get factory photos before the doll is shipped and you can request adjustments on the make up. If you are buying a stock doll from a shop then it is more difficult to show the make up details.
The doll in the photos did not have a big make up job done to her, she was basically what the factory sent but with some added lip color - as well as being tan, which in my experience looks more filled with life than paler dolls.
