Movement in hip/back joint

Post by Cubiko »

Hey guys,

I have seen some vendors claim that the upgraded skeleton that hit the scene a while back had movement from side to side as well as back and forward. We all know of and have seen the shrugging shoulders and the hinged neck, but is this side to side possibility a reality? I have a doll with the «new» skeleton but I am not capable of finding this feature, and I also talked to other members that have tried but not been able to do this.

This is something I've been curious about with my YL148. I also want to say I saw somewhere that the torso can be twisted left and right, haven't tried for fear of breaking something.
Have a great day!

The twist/turning torso has always been there btw., if that is what you meant.

Here is a quote from a vendor when the improved skeleton was released, but I know other vendors have said this too. I really hope it is correct, because I would love for the doll to do this for photos - I just want to know how to..
You get an much improved neck skeleton along with the ability to shrug the shoulder and sideway bending at the hip joint.

My DS also has this feature, I am 100% certain of that, but I am not able to pose her this way either, so I am hoping it is just a technique.

Hi mandos. As we are in the WM Dolls forum your question is target towards dolls from WM or Jinsan, right?
I ask because I have a doll who is capable to bend sideways. But she isn't a WM or other Jinsan doll.

Lucia (Passiondolls 160cm Muscle Doll) - introduction and photos

Yeah, WM. Still not any clearer to me, the skeleton pictured could be any skeleton. Can somone with a new doll with the shrugging shoulders maybe see if they are capable of doing this?

*scratches head in puzzlement*

So I sent a PM to the vendor that said this about the WM skeleton last year:

You get an much improved neck skeleton along with the ability to shrug the shoulder and sideway bending at the hip joint.

Then the answer comes back:
I don't believed the Jinsan one have that feature
Yet I see photos like this that has to be sideway movement, and I am not able to do this with my doll that is a few months old, equipped with the new skeleton. I am sending the question over to WM via mail, as the vendor just made me even more puzzled 8O

Hey Mandos! Saw this post and snapped off a few pics. Sorry for the poor lighting but. These brands so far have the hip tilt skeleton.
From left to right. ASDoll 170cm, DSDoll 167cm Evo, YourDoll 170cm, 6YE Amor.
I posed them for the example and they go way farther into a tilt but I did not push all the way.
I have one wm skeleton with shrugging shoulders. The 108cm. one week old.
Apparently she won't tilt sideways. My other wm's don't have shrugging shoulders.

This WM Body Has the hip sway but no shruggers. She moves her hip sideways really far. She is one month old.

I can confirm that my WM 163cm hcup manufactured in March of this year has the side to side action.

Thanks AH. Seems like another feature you have to specify to be 100% sure to get.

I got my WM 156c in July, no side to side movement. Got my WM 157B in late August, still no side to side movement. I didn't try to bend them, I felt around and could feel the back joint (forward/backward) but no double joint, which would be necessary for such movement. But I found something I didn't expect. For whatever reason, I checked my WM 140 that I got back in March of 2016, and she has the same back joint that my other two have. I didn't think they were putting that joint in that far back, I thought they were just a "T" welded solid. I never knew it was there. And it's really stiff, so she never bent that way. But I actually tried bending her there and sure enough, she has it.

Manufacturers should really provide some sort of block of instruction with these dolls considering it's hard to know what you're getting in one doll or another. I realize they have their skeleton secrets but c'mon, just showing how you can pose a particular doll can't hurt.

I'm a total noob and I'm handling Camden with kid gloves because I don't know which ways she can move. Heck I'm in the WM Dolls forum looking for insight lol!
Have a great day!

Hey mandos, I just got one of the new OR167G's and guess what...she has the enhanced skeleton with sideways movement! So it would appear that there are some newer skeletons with this feature and some without it! She's a big gal and I haven't done any adventurous pics yet but I will try and get around to demonstrating the sideways movement and post on her thread, (Celeste Elise), she is impressive, I bet you could coax some excellent pictures out of her!
