The Pains of Age
The Pains of Age
I have a spinal column fracture in the upper back that the doc calls T7 and it's inoperable and nothing they can do. It was due to me carrying my Corgi(45 pounds) down the stairs, since his back legs were paralyzed. I did good till we got to the bottom. As I knelt down to sit him down a sharp pain hit my back that felt like a 5 inch steak knife went in. I ended up in the ER.
This getting older flat sucks. So far, other than being able to retire, I've seen nothing glorious about it so; enjoy your youth-it goes way too quickly.

Re: The Pains of Age
In fact, my right knee was giving me so many problems last week that I was on crutches. It was just ridiculous as it was hurting so bad that it was even keeping me awake at night.
And to top it off, all that hopping around trying to keep the weight off of my knee caused the bone spur in my foot to start acting up. The pain from that was even making my big toe hurt so bad that I was beginning to think that I had the gout.
Of course the most ridiculous thing of all is that at only 47, I'm too young for this crap. I have no idea what I'm going to do as I get even older.
But having things that I need to do or want to do and not being able to do them adds extreme frustration and depression to the mix as well. Hell, I can't even bang my dolls in missionary due to it being too painful.
In any case, getting old definitely sucks ass. Which is why I don't recommend it.
Girlfriends are for guys who haven't found the right doll yet.
I feel much better now that I've given up hope.

I have had many a good friend pass way before they could be considered old!

Still-I'd love to be 35 again. I was probably at my strongest then and it was a slow downhill grade from that point on.

Re: The Pains of Age
yes I know very well as I suffered a severe crushed vertebra in a car crash when I was in my twenties. luckily I was young and healed in only two or three years. The part that takes the crush gets filled in with scar tissue and other bodily fluids that harden over time.
And ya...The only thing they could do for it was keep me in traction and in bed for a month after the accident.

Fortunately even though I'm not active, I haven't suffered any injuries that prevent me lifting or moving things. I'm a little over 6ft and for alignment reasons I had originally looked at a taller doll, but decided to heed the advice of more experienced people. Dead weight is not the same as carrying a box to a truck. I still look at those big girls and think maybe the next one. Hmmm. Then I remember, I'm getting even older. Oh the recklessness of youth. It was much easier then.

The trick is to get those wheels and the vehicle Up to you. I don't know what you have but there are different jacks/lifts to make that happen. You can work and do the job sitting or standing. It is worth the investmentColColt wrote:Them so called "Golden Years" have suddenly over the past few years turned to rotten wood. I can't even get down to replace my disc brakes like I use to.

No more working on cars. I did that since I was 16 and now it's time to let someone else do it. I can't even find spark plugs in my Corolla. You cant work on them like in the old days. Now, all control is via a computer. I did my fair share of restoring two cars back in the 80's when I was younger/stronger but them days are gone. First one was a 1950 Plymouth-completely rebuilt that engine, did the work myself other than honing out the cylinder walls and degreeing the cam.siliconelover wrote:The trick is to get those wheels and the vehicle Up to you.
