WM Head Compatibility

So I'm trying to decide on a second doll and was initially going to go with another WM doll. But given the issues I've had with mine consider me once bitten. So now I'm looking at other manufactures. My question is are WM heads compatible with other manufactures? And if so would the bodies be made from another factory or would they be from the same factory with a different brand? Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Gordonis, I think all dolls with the 16mm threaded neck should be compatible, however you need extremely good luck to get a color match!
Even dolls and heads made by the same manufacturer can have large differences in shades of a particular color. I bought two new tan WM heads and one of them is so light it's unusable. (different manufacture dates and tpe batches)

YL and WM dolls both use the same skin tones nipple options, skeletons and a 16mm bolt.
Also as Mr_Fix_it said you can order the same head and body one time. Then a few months or a year later order the same head/doll with all the same presets. But a factory may change the TPE recipe over that time. In which case you'll likely see a difference in the skin tones of the two dolls.

In the case of say a JY doll you might be able to match a White/Natural/Tan skin tone to a WM White/Medium/Tan skin tone. But JY has had some issues of quality control over the last few months. I know they have a 168cm h-cup body which I'd love to get for my preferred WM#33 head.

Oh you also might be able to hide a miss match if you use a make up. By that I mean you'd apply a Bronze or Tan color powder to your doll after oil and baby powdering her. This is also an option if you want to give her a tan line. See Dollicious2's thread "Meet Olinka The New YL 170 WM head 149" where he experimented with that idea.
