Best way to apply tattoos / moles

I'm sure this has been asked before, but what is the best way to do this? Are there permanent vs less permanent ways? What looks the most realistic?

You can try temporary tattoos that are cheap enough on eBay. See attached pic of my Sophia with a rose on her shoulder that I put on in May and it's still there. For moles you can just use an eye brow pencil.

I tried the temporary tattoos, but they didn't work for me at all. Peeled and deformed almost immediately. Is there a good way of doing something more permanent?

If you were to apply a temp tattoo, and then oil your doll right after, would that seal the tattoo in, or would the oil strip it away?

If oiling your doll wouldn't help the tattoo, is there anything else you could put over it to protect it?

Any suggestions for permanent freckles?

Planning on tatting mine when she shows up, and will probably play around with Tegaderm over a temporary. Curious to see if it works or not.

The tattoo that I applied to Sophia in the picture above actually lasted for several months and even survived her having a wash and oil rub (I wrapped some cling film around her upper arm). I only rubbed it off with baby oil a few weeks back when it was starting to flake a bit, the trick with these temp tattoo's is to ensure that the surface is dry and free of any powder etc.

Not enough Warm water on the sponge and the tpe has to be CLEAN (as oil and powder free as possible.) You slide the backing pushing in do not pull it off. It was a lot of trial and error.

Oil removes the tattoo.
