I think this new law is a terrible thing. The only thing I can think of is that its creators and its promoters are using it as a distraction from something else the current administration is planning. Otherwise, it really makes no sense.

Ish, Stef, anyone - you mentioned some monitoring programs. Do you have any recommendations? I tried that a while ago with a program that had a number of monitoring/filtering features. The problem was, it seemed to make all programs run slowly (or not at all in some cases), and it crashed a lot. Ultimately it quit working and I removed it. But that was only one program. Any positive recommendations for specific solutions that work for you? Thanks. And hopefully this is still on-topic enough.

Software does have its place, but it is also a trade off (such as with performance).

You need to get a hardware firewall for your internet access and have everyone work from it. The firewall should provide a mechanism to add banned words to a list. And if the firewall sees any of these on the web site it should refuse to allow the web site to pass through it.

I'm using this one:
http://www.compusa.com/products/product ... pfp=SEARCH

And in addition to being a firewall, it is also a wireless router. Which makes it possible to add users in the house to it by simply installing a wireless internet card in their computer (no physical wiring needed).

Plus, the unit has come down by around $50.00 recently. So it is a good buy, too. ;)

well i have read the entire thread and i have just one thing to say... poop! yes ladies and gentelmen, poop.

this law is just a silly reminder of the radicals that run our government, lobbyists. that is right! lobbyists accually run our government, and not the poeple.

anyway, to get to my point, in order to shield sexual images from children the feds might want to kill my ex-mother-in-law from having sex on the couch whlie her kids are sitting in the same room. why don't parents do what mine did... sensor what they watch and where they surf. it's called being a parent for a reason! i think it is just a cop out so parents don't have to interact with thier kids or make rules in the house and inforce them. oh no what would the world come to if parents accually disciplined their own children??

i'll tell you what would happen, less crime, better grades in school, better selfesteem, better work ethic, less violence, and an overall better world. sheesh, parents of the world take some resopsibility for once in your life you burned-out-throw-backs.

and for those who care, please leave your bashing of the repulican or democratic parties in another forum.

I thought more than half the republicans and democrats belonged to the same party. :D

I used to agree with you, however, it's no longer that simple. I think in some places it's harder to raise kids and caused me to change my mind about having any. :( Here's a case in point:
They have mandatory attendance laws for public schrools.
This one woman's kid did not want to go to schrool, so she made her.
She got called to the principles' office (the parent!). They threatened to call DSS (Dept of Social Services) if she bodily forced her daughter again.
Then her daughter missed schrool, so she (the parent) got called in again.
She (the parent) told them they didn't want her to make her daughter go to schrool, yet they wanted her to make her daughter go to schrool. :!: :?

Then there are some places that use the language of the pedophile by telling children, "You don't have to tell your parents anything about what you're doing. It's your body. Let's just make this our little secret." Let's have them get abortions without the knowledge of their parents but god help us all if a kid learns something at a museum. You need parental consent for that!

See, so the gubment wants to raise our kids for us. If we don't agree with this we are somehow cruel. Or out of touch.

The InkMan does not like public schrools...

I don't know why I never thought of that  ...yes, that is a much better solution. Thanks!

I realize this thread is a little over 6 months old and I understand the reasons and concerns for not tangling with the Laws, right or wrong.
And I don't want to start the political "bitc**ng" about this. I'm wondering if there is a solution to this problem?

My purpose for reviving this subject since some time has passed is in hopes that someone might have come up with a way we can legally post pictures as before, like "Goldmans" works of art for example.

One of the things that helped me decide to get Leyna was seeing photos and video clips of owners with thier dolls.
There is/are websites such as "Watchersweb" that has a public side and a members side were amatures can post pictures of themselves or of their mates or of them together in sexual activity.

Surely there is a way we can address this subject so doll owners can present and share images etc.. of dolls being enjoyed by the owners, or friends as Vanessa puts it.

2004 and 2005 were rough years for me and I didn't get to do much "shooting" of Leyna. I wanted to do some of me with her to help illustrate how the dolls were worth having and well...just to have fun being creative like Goldman. As 2005 closed I was getting life back in order and getting geared up to offer some new shoots as described above and found this thread that shot a hole in my plans. And then the sad news of Tina(Ishtaria) to start a new year.

Bill, I know this is a "Doll Forum" and after all it is about the dolls. Some of us members enjoy the art of these dolls and some of us enjoy both the art/creative nature of these dolls and the "lovedoll" aspect as well and want to see and/or express that aspect of these dolls, solids or inflatibles..or partials (torso etc..) in photos and video clips for our friends here in the forum.

There must be a way we can provide an outlet of this nature for members and voyuers(sp?) who might want to own a doll of somekind some day, and for owners that want to share some fun with the rest of us as I would like to do.

Anyone have any ideas on how we can do this?

Here is a link to the law:
http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html ... -000-.html

This law may not apply to us because we are not producers but I'm not a lawyer.

(3) the term “produces” means to produce, manufacture, or publish any book, magazine, periodical, film, video tape, computer generated image, digital image, or picture, or other similar matter and includes the duplication, reproduction, or reissuing of any such matter, but does not include mere distribution or any other activity which does not involve hiring, contracting for managing, or otherwise arranging for the participation of the performers depicted;

This part may get us off the hook:

"but does not include mere distribution or any other activity which does not involve hiring, contracting for managing, or otherwise arranging for the participation of the performers depicted;"

I may start with the movies again but we need to change servers first because a dead person is renting them and time is running out.

I will want a way for download only because playing the movie from the site uses a ton of bandwidth.

We'll see.

I understand there is a lot going on right now trying to get things worked out and get TDF issues settled. I wish I could help but I am doing well to post and navigate my own computer and the internet. I am glad there are forum members able to help.
I'm very patient now after the last couple years and can wait until things get under control. Besides it will give me time to do some shoots and movies/clips or whatever in the meantime.
It sounds like, as I read the law, and I am not a lawyer either, that we are not the target of it either. Since it is voluntary, non professional, not for profit and just distributing others creations as it were. With the proper disclaimers and warnings in place perhaps we can once again include this aspect of doll owning and display.
Thanks Bill.
Life is truely good...inspite of the bumps.

IMHO the Feds R only going to use this 'law' to go after targets they want & use this 'law' as a lever to get to other issues or get someone out of circulation THEY want out........think about this, prostitution is illegal in most states (not mine!) however, adult porn is essentially video taped acts of prostitution since the players R paid for having sex=prostitution U see the Feds shutting down the adult film industry? NOPE...it's all wordsmithing & it's all to leverage for control when & where they want it. It's smoke for most of us, fire for a select few that have riled the 'beast'. We R living in the belly of the beast, so long as we don't stick our heads too high, they don't care about us.......so don't dweat it, albiet, it's Bill's call & I have no problem with regulating the forum here to comply if that's the way it has to be so be it.

Now if U want to talk about real issues, how about legalizing Mary Jane? Many states now have state laws for medical MJ, the Feds say, Federal law supersedes state laws, U cannot do it! But they R not going after many except for high profile voter sensitive states where the issue is to political advantage....we have the law here in Nevada, supposedly, Doctors can be put in prison for writing a script for Marijuana....do U really think the Federal Gov has nothing better to do than harrass terminally ill patients or those with Chronic pain, glycoma or other medical diabilities because they R smoking a little pot? It doesn't make me feel safer knowing all the ill people R being threatened by the Feds for this silly silly crap.....my point is this, it's all politics.......& it's all BULL.........Poet

Oh my, don't get me started on the 'patriot act', besides according to TDF rules I don't think we R to discuss politics? Whatever....but the 'Patriot Act' sorta reminds me of Orwell's '1984' with the Minstry of Truth / Justice etc......just beurocratic lies to put the boot on the common man. We R not there yet. Jeez, I don't want to get started so I will shut the heck up B4 I get in trouble........ Poet
