On a subconscious level Toybox knew he was going to win and took the nap to start saving his strength for when Miyuki arrives. Being the companion of a classic Akiko model I can tell you that they are insatiable little cuddle monsters. So eat your wheaties and get plenty of sleep dude you're in for the plush ride of your life.
