Re: Tomoe's Blog - The Adventures of a Cute Japanese Girl!
As ever, it was a bit difficult taking her outside. Especially in that outfit, I think anyone who saw us would only think the worst (doll in mask and leather bondage gear!?). I really think that there is no substitute for photos outside though, with a proper backdrop that really exists, so it's worth it in the end. I wanted to take more photos, but I didn't have a lot of time as it started to rain, and I was limited to one or two poses. Once I took out all the photos that didn't come out right, I only had a couple of decent shots. I'm happy enough with the quality though.
The picture below is the one that I used for the contest. I might not be the best photographer, but I think she looks quite real there. She normally doesn't do a lot of standing, as she doesn't have standing feet (not that DS really do standing feet), so these are the first photos I've taken with her on her feet. I've been experimenting with it though, and with 2 layers of socks and her boots on tight she seems to manage standing ok for fairly short periods.
I also made an edit with the "wings" added on. I still pretty much suck at editing stuff!

Great outfit, I love it. Too bad you haven't used this one for the contest:Willendorph wrote:Tomoe entered another one of the photo contests this month.
The slightly faded colors, the look, and just the look alone...
leaving the rest to the imagination of the viewer.
It's perfect because it is not!

I like the sort of washed out look, it somehow makes her look more alive. It's more luck than anything else, as I'm not much of a photographer. I enjoy it, but I have a lot of other hobbies and things and I'm happy not over-intellectualising it and just enjoying my time with Tomoe.

Re: Tomoe's Blog - The Adventures of a Cute Japanese Girl!
Weather in England has been really weird this year. We actually had a massive heat wave that lasted for months, but now we're back to rain again. I'm hoping for another photo opportunity this weekend though.
I tend to buy her cosplay outfits from China on Aliexpress. Waiting for them to be delivered for a month or two gives us something to look forward to, and curbs my spending as I won't buy Tomoe anything else till everything I ordered has arrived! I'm always tempted to get her a Chobits/Chii costume, so that'll probably happen at some point.

Re: Tomoe's Blog - The Adventures of a Cute Japanese Girl!
I used this first one for my "Monster Mash" entry in the photo challenge. I'll add the edited picture in a separate post below.
I really enjoy taking her photo outside. I seem to always get better results, but it does feel a bit risky too taking your doll out in the open!
I'm enjoying having her standing as well. It's a nice way to appreciate Tomoe's shapely thighs... I know that this was a Haloween shoot, but it really did seem to be cursed. The first time we went out, it rained. Then my camera's SD card was full, and I had to delete things. Then, just when things started getting sexy, I ran out of batteries...
… leaving only this one overexposed shot in her final pose. Oh well.
Anyone ever watch NCIS where the dead body is on the slab and a weird overly bright white light seems to inexplicably obscure their junk? Pretty much the situation we have going on here...

Never heard of Tokyo Ghoul but that jacket looks incredible.
Now what kind of weapons will she have to fight the zombies?

Thanks. I really like the jacket too (It also didn't cost that much, like $30 or something with the skirt and stockings included). It has a hood as well, which is pretty cool. I did take some pictures with it, but not too many as it obscures even more of her face than even the mask.TheIQF++ wrote:Good work with these photos. She looks really cool and ready for action.

She doesn't have a lot of choice for weapons, so it's gonna have to be whatever she can find on her quest across the back yard... I mean post apocalyptic wasteland...
Maybe a laser gun?

Too fancy, not post-apocalyptic enough.Willendorph wrote:Maybe a laser gun?
With the leather outfit she's wearing...
Maybe a notched whip?

Definitely do it! I would watch with great interest. I like zombie movies!Willendorph wrote:Definitely my best edit so far. I almost want to start making some sort of storybook thread where she battles though a post-apocalyptic wasteland full of zombies!

My photography is still a bit all over the place. I don't want to overdo it, but at the same time, I can't help but be jealous of the results some people are able to get. I really don't want to spend loads of money on cameras and stuff though!
Yeah, the edited picture came out a lot better than I thought. I had a rough idea in mind for the challenge and I sort of followed it through and adapted as it went. I made the whole thing in Photoscape by cloning Tomoe onto the top of the other image, blending in the edges a bit and then adding a filter to it to marry up the images a bit more. I'm starting to get the hang of it I think.
