Oh I think that's a tad harsh Mavi. You can hardly blame the production company for using the people they did when others from here turned the gig down. Admittedly I did so myself as I was expecting it to be exploitative TV but I just didn't take away what you clearly seem to have done. I can't comment on the woman you mention as her and her husbands business was new to me but I still found what they were doing interesting. The one bit I would take issue with was when they got the young guy to have sex on camera with a doll (as they did a gal in Finland as well). That was clearly set up for the show as it wasn't the guys doll so he had no emotional connection with it and that was painfully obvious. Again you can't blame the production company for not trying to attract more interest from regular doll owners as they made contact through here and I also had a few conversations with them and found them to be honest and straight about what they wanted when they could have been manipulative as the media so often is. Yes the show could have been so much better but that's only going to happen if more of us get involved and put the media straight. Here in the UK we are still way too uptight about all things sexual so for me, it's rather refreshing , to see something on TV that challenges that, I've seen a couple of the other shows in the series and have found it quite an eye opener, admittedly now and then I go and make a cup of tea when things are a bit raunchy but that's just my own damn English reserve kicking in! The sooner we have more open discussions about all things sexual, including sex with our synthetic ladies the better!

Hi Anung, it may pop up on YouTube at some point, I've noticed that the BBC are now streaming some of their stuff on there. I'm not too sure where the gripes could come from, to be fair to the production team they did reach out to a few UK doll owners including myself but what they wanted was a little too rich for me. I've seen a few of their 'Sex Business' shows now and I thought they were quite good and not as sensationalist as I was expecting. I did find myself grimacing a bit at how some of the dolls were presented, ie with wonky eyes and poorly placed wigs but it was fascinating to see the 3d technology being used to scan a pornstars body to create a doll and the result looked impressive. Harmony cracked me up when she invited Brick to f*** her up the ass all night long, now that's something you don't hear a nice gal say, naughty Harmony!

UK is PAL not NTSC but not sure if that is a issue. Years back i bought a 58.00 JVC DVD player because it was not region locked by design so it would play any region disc. That became very useful when obtaining hard to find movies you did not have to worry about region codes.

Hi Boobman, I don't think that's the issue, I suspect it's more to do with it being initially limited to the Channel 5 online platform. I do know that some of our UK stations are starting to have a YouTube presence like the BBC for example so it might appear on there. Also some subscription services like Netflix might pick it up?

I was real excited to work with them. They 3D scanned a model that I like and she even verified that she did on Twitter. They were posting some progress info/pics on Twitter, but mainly just adding new models like crazy before having any full done dolls. Thru told me that they could deliver any of the models with 6-8 weeks.

Johnny Sins had the head finished and he did look amazing, but I wanted to see a few females completed.

I wanted to wait for a few finished products before making s purchase. They went dark on January 29th. Then sometime last month they finally posted a full female doll, but I wasn't impressed. All her features looked diminished. Her belly button was barely there. The head had no more detail than other tpe heads. They price these porn star dolls at $4500.

This particular model never had a post showing the 3D scan like they did for others. I was hoping maybe she was made by hand and this wouldn't represent other models. After awhile, there was no more tweets, but then they deleted these tweets as if they admit she didn't come out well.

I then saw that they deleted two models from their website including the one I wanted. I sent an email to them about 5 days ago asking about the deleted tweets and the deleted models. No response.

I was so excited for that doll, but looks like it will never be. Just lime that 167cm Cleverdoll. Never saw it outside of that website, but the website shut down.

I saw viewers react to the show on Twitter, and it was awful. The #MeAndMySexDoll and #TheSexBusiness hashtags blew up and 99% of the posts were hateful, jeering comments. It was like people were pointing and laughing at us. Pretty terrible.

I don't think exposure like this is helping to promote sex doll ownership in a positive way.

That is the gist I am also getting from what I ben seeing elsewhere as well.

Admittedly, while I was trying to view myself, to make my own judgement (unsuccessfully even with the tricks) I thing UK TV, needs to bring back the TV show Humans , were the Dollies do far more for the hobby, than these docos.

I'm not necessarily defending this particular show as such, although, personally I didn't find it quite as bad as others clearly have. What I would say though is that it needs to be seen within the context of the Channel 5 series as a whole which is called 'The Sex Business', an, at times, graphic look at all things sexual in the UK. This is the reason I swiftly declined to participate as I knew it wouldn't be looking at any other aspects of doll ownership. The guy I spoke to was very up front about what they were doing and seemed to understand why I wouldn't get involved and I'm sure I said to him that he would be unlikely to find any doll owners willing to be so open about what they did in the bedroom. I absolutely agree that its a pity that a genuine doll owner wasn't able to discuss the sex side in a grown up way that explains the nuances of it all and how you can develop a bond with your gal etc, that was sadly missing from this particular show. As it happens, I was fortunate enough to do a short video for Barcroft media that focussed on my photography and more or less left it at that. The jorno involved got back to me to say they had received predominantly positive comments about that one so it's not all bad on the media front, we just need to keep chipping away!

People always focus on the sex function of dolls because they have never owned one and everything about dolls is in their imagination.
In fact most people accept it but seldom truly understand. So just put their opinion aside or you would be upset. This is more severe in China as the traditional mind is firmly implanted in our mind.

Ok So after watching this doco,

I can say

I watched that Channel 5 program last night. I thought it was mostly okay, but not as good as the one from about 18 months ago that featured the late CrazyCajun from TDF.
The Channel 5 program last night did say that it was difficult to get established doll owners to open up in public, as you'd expect.

On the program we had:

1) A guy with some elf dolls.
2) A new company trying to create TPE dolls based on pornstars. Never seen them before. They seemed to be out of their depth.
3) A guy who was trying to have sex with a doll for the first time. He threw the poor doll around a lot!
4) A doll brothel in Europe somewhere, where a girl tried out a male doll for the first time and wasn't impressed.
5) Galmato Haven were shown repairing RealDolls in the USA.
6) Brick Dollbanger showing videos of him and Harmony and other RealDolls.
7) Brief appearance of the CEO of Abyss who make RealDolls, who talked a bit about robot dolls.

What I thought was missing was any representation of the deep affection and care (love maybe?) that a lot of us have for our dolls.
The guy with the elf dolls was maybe the only one who seemed to actually care for his dolls.
So personally I was a bit sad after watching the show.

Is a pretty fair call.

Me personally, OK, it could have been a lot worse, but could have been more accurate for the hobby as a whole. So sure, this is what we can expect, if we do not partake in these docos, but then the risk of mis-editing and misrepresentation is a valid concern.

Agreed, too little focus was on the bond and companionship of dolls, (only a brief closure section focus on Mr Elf Doll owners,introduced earlier on, no name IAW ROC, only alias, and lovely girls to BTW!) and I think they missed the whole photographic model, dolls out and about and companion aspect of the hobby, that would have added better balance, rather than the over exposed pornographic interactions, sure show a bit, but not every 5 minutes and as much of it.

That said..Fuck , Plus one for Brick...you are a doll banging machine man!...and double plus's for Harmony "Brick I have not been fucked like that since high school". That cracked me up, as a bloke who has spent a few hours with harmony as well! (yes that was ripped footage, edited in.)

I am a tad gripey about the voice morphs portraying a creeper dude voice..yes, voice morphs do that, but really 6 semitone, is ridiculous (from a bloke who knows some stuff about about audio and music).

That said, maybe I should have stuck my hand up and got them to pay Lily and me a visit down under, now that would have been something (absolutely Hilarious actually), and they would not have to balls about with VOX audio morph drops too much , but then again, no way UK censors would have let the She Devil do her thing on TV

Galmato Haven and Abyss were represented reasonably well and came accross as very professional, woulld have been nice to see more current footage used from the Abyss vaults though!

There was some interesting footage, but the production writer IMHO has missed the point , and it was clear to me that the company owners portrayed as the "experts" grabbed the business exposure opportunity by the horns, and why not...free advertising, and they came out of it reasonably well off. So well done for putting your hands up to represent.

As for :Anna" in the Finish Doll Brothel...my gals would like to know if she wants to play with all of Us.... ..and KIKI also presented very well!

So that is my quick spin on it.

it could have been far worse, and the press and media rarely portrays it spot on anyhow after editing.
