Stumbling upon beauty
One of the pleasures of photography is capturing the sunlight as it fills a space.
This morning, I clumsily made my way through the darkened family room to open the blinds.
Along the way, I became aware of this beautiful stream of light light leaking from the side of the blinds. It cast a sensuous light across Marilyn's body and the wall behind her.
The only reason she was in the corner was to make room for a separate photo shoot. This had inadvertently created a beautiful image.
I scrambled to fetch my camera and take a picture:

Welcome to the forum!
Thank you for your question.
As you have no doubt discovered, clothing selection is much more complicated than merely picking out something you like in a specified size.
Sigh, I wish I had a simple answer for you. I shop exclusively at thrift shops. They allow me to judge color, quality and fit in person. I can usually find about 4 outfits for the cost of a single (poorly made / fitting) dress on Amazon.
(Funny side note: I’ve become a pro at spotting discarded Amazon dresses in thrift shops.)
I think it is important to understand your mannequin’s unique clothing requirements before you purchase a stitch of fabric.
I recommend searching the web for articles about determining best hair / clothing colors for specific skin complexions. This will help define your color palette.
Next, I’d search for articles on finding flattering fashions that suit the specific body type of your mannequin.
Good luck in your search. I hope you will create a thread sharing your experiences and photos so others can learn from you.

I agree that pose is key. In our case buttoned up shirts and sleeved dresses are mostly a no-no. The raised arm makes them look awkward.

Together, we watched through the bedroom window as a dramatic thunderstorm rolled in.
The mood inspired the heavy use of shadow in this composition:
