I think this may be from customs as the package lands in the state's but I am not sure what they do with the hole...
Maybe looking inside with a camera wand or some kind of sensory to detect any possible drug smuggling is my guess.
The hole is on the side where her feet were and the packaging and feet weren't harmed thank goodness.

Observation of Olenka's shipping package

As we can see the front & back as well as the ends are lacking clear indication markers to show which side is up and down but with this shown and said many shippers or their employees ignore these markings as they pack the box's in the shipping vehicles.
Working in this field I for one do care for the packages I handle so the indicator's are very helpful as they limit any possible damages.
I would like to see YL improve the packaging in this way
The sides are just fine but front & back and each end need the improvements
