Thanks guys
A little whiskey, a little free-time... Ta-da! lol
I have been, for months now, trying to make myself buy a human hair wig for Anna Marie. About once a week I'll start searching, checking out various styles, various options - until I have about 25 tabs open in my browser, at which point I surrender. Until the next weekend. It's just so much money, and I'm afraid to change her style too much... And if I buy one and then it doesn't look right... I'm out a lot of money.
It's exasperating.
Yesterday, as part of that process I put a different wig that I already own on her. It was one of the cheaper synthetic wigs that come with WM dolls, but it was a longer style. I wanted to see her with longer hair, to consider that option. Well, the wig was really long - halfway down her back - and it didn't have bangs. I decided then that I really like her with bangs.
Anyway, today I thought to myself - well, you're never going to use that wig anyway. Why not try cutting it the way you might like it... Nope! I haven't been drinking! Well, I gave it a try. Not much to lose after all...
I am totally hitting myself for not taking a Before pic... I don't know why that occurred to me afterward, instead of before... But here's a pic of how much hair I removed. It's a little deceiving - there's more than it looks like in the pic.

And here's the end result! I think I did pretty good, considering I had no idea what I was actually doing (which is my excuse for most things in my life lol). I took a lot of length off the back (6-8 inches), and gave her two levels of bangs with a sort of tapered thing on the front long part (technical term)... It still looks like her kind of style, just longer in the back. Or so I'm telling myself. lol
What do you think?!?! It's still not a human-hair wig, so that dilemma still looms, but I really like the slightly longer style on her. And it's probably time for her to update her look a little anyway. Most of the women I know do that way more often than Anna Marie has. lol
Oh, also, I switched to using the "Pro" mode on my camera... setting ISO, f-stop etc... saving Raw files instead of jpegs. Who knows what else (still trying to comprehend it). I think the pics came out nicer than they had when using "Auto" mode. I'm still trying to understand the settings that are available in Pro mode, but aside from cropping (and slightly brightening a couple of them) I didn't have to make any adjustments in post - so that seems like a good thing.
Anyway, thanks for looking. Please let me know what you think of the longer hairstyle!
