The expression FUCKING AWESOME was invented exactly for what you're doing!!!

The clothes and accessories were all provided by a good friend who wore the outfit to Torture Garden last year. Unfortunately I was having too much fun and forgot to ask about sizes and manufactuers, sorry.

Many thanks Little Fellow, those pics are some of my favourites as well. I've been shooting the DS EVO recently (viewtopic.php?f=265&t=98306) and have neglected this girl for too long. She really is a joy to photograph so I'll be doing more shoots in the weeks to come.

I am getting a new DS Ex-Lite next week. I am also getting the closed-eye version of the Kayla head. Any advice on care and use and taking pictures?

Thanks
Hi DoctorDuke2, thanks for the kind words. I don't think you'll be disappointed when your girl arrives.

With regard to care, use and taking photos, there's a few things to be aware off as she's completely different to a TPE or silicone doll. In no particular order:

1) I've had Kayla for over a year and have never had a problem with dark clothes or lingerie staining her skin.

2) She requires very little maintenance, no powdering necessary, just a gentle wipe down with a damp cloth every couple of months, and then dried off with a paper towel.

3) Her range of motion is limited. She's not as athletic as her TPE or silicone sisters. I've pushed her to her limits in some of my shoots. Follow the printed instructions that DS provide and you should be ok. DO NOT raise her arms more than 80° from her body. If you do the PU foam at her armpits will split.

4) Take your time to get to know how her skeleton works by practicing posing her.

5) In bed, you also need to take your time and be gentle. Again, take your time to find what works for you.

6) DO NOT use the little yellow thing on her neck connector, you'll never get the head off!

7) However, I do use the little yellow connectors on her arm and leg joints. The smaller ones are for her legs. If you don't use them, the arms and legs will fall off when you move her.

8 ) when taking the arms and legs off, DO NOT try and pull them off if you've used the little yellow pins, you'll risk spliting the PU skin. Instead use a large flat head screwdriver and wedge it between the plastic plates of the joints. Then gently twist the screwdriver 90° and the limbs will seperate easily.

9) The PU skin doesn't take powdered make up. Instead, use eye liner pencils for make up and rub it in with your finger. To remove it, just use normal make up remover wipes. If in doubt, practice on back of the head where it is covered by a wig.

10) she wears size EU36 shoes/boots. Do yourself a favour and get a pair of platform heels. In her Demonia 804's
Kayla stand at over 5'10"!

11) For photo shoots she's a UK size 4 or 6 dress/blouse. If you are in the uk, Primark size 4 fits perfectly.

12) I get most of her outfits from thrift stores / charity shops. Don't forget the little accesories, rings, braclets, necklaces, belts, sun glasses etc. They make all the difference for shoots.

13) She's so realistically proportioned, you won't have any difficulty finding clothes that fit. The down side of that however is that you're are gonna need a bigger wardrobe!

14) Think about setting up your girl with her own social media account. There's quite a few dolls on the forum that have their own twitter and instagram pages. Kayla's are:
https://instagram.com/kayladollx
https://twitter.com/kayladollx

If I think of anything else I'll let you know.

Can't wait to see your pics,

G

I have been reading this thread for a good part of the day and I am impressed with your photographic ability and also your fashion sense in regards to the DS Ex-Lite Doll. I have currently have a Happy Dolls Dagmar fabric doll myself. She is a 165cm doll that I have named Eryka. My review and photo shoots are here:

viewtopic.php?f=142&t=94133

Like yourself I bought my doll for both sex and fashion photography. Granted, I am not as good as it as you are, and the poses are limited. The reason for that is that I found a flaw in the Happy Dolls Dagmar doll and that is the joints loosen up relatively quickly. Three of her four arm joints are already loose, but her right shoulder is still tight. Her leg joints are still fine, but I been in contact with those that own this doll and have heard that the legs can loosen up too. While it might seem simple enough to fix, my worry is that the joints will just loosen up again.

After being a way for a while and coming back...the first thing I noticed was your photo shoot of the DS-167 EVO doll and I was blown away by her. But then I noticed what you did with the DS-ExLite and I was equally blown away. I am really amazed at how sexy that doll can look further, going to DS-Dolls site, the EX-Lite can be bought for $400 now. So this has my gears turning to perhaps get an Ex-Lite for photography purposes and naturally continue to use Eryka for bed time. I have heard of the dangers of having sex with the Exlite in that it is very easy to damage the foam. But since the doll has been out this long, it seems that their owners have come up with ways to get around many of the dolls limitations. Your advice above is very helpful along with the advice from Harem...also an Ex-Lite owner.

I like how you documented all your clothing purchases, but I am at the disadvantage of not living in the UK or Europe for that matter. I am in the US and the sizes run differently here. From my initial looking it seems that the Ex-Lite runs an XS or a size 2. I am not sure what her shoe size would be. I know at one point you mentioned you were able to put her in heels to make her 5'10" tall. I am definitely liking that as I am 6'3" myself.

I have some questions.

Do you know of some good US sources for some of the clothing you bought? Would you know her US shoe size? Have you gotten 'intimate' with your Ex-Lite and if so, any further recommendations other than what you mentioned above to prevent damage? Is the Ex-Lite kissable? Since you have your doll for over a year, how are all the joints?

I already looked up the Camera you have, the Canon 700D, but didn't find much on it. Amazon directed me to the Canon EOS Rebel T6. Are you familiar with this camera and if so, is it good for doll photography work?

https://www.amazon.com/Canon-T6-Digital ... canon+700d

It does seem that for the going price, it isn't worth tearing up my Dagmar doll in an attempt to fix it. I would then rather get a DS EX-Lite. Granted this would mean a new wardrobe, but it is still far cheaper than going with a heavy TPE or silicone doll.

Anyway, thank you for the information you already provided, and thank you for any future assistance you have to offer and finally keep up the great work with the DS EX-Lite. You certainly opened my eyes more to how beautiful this doll can be.

Also I am curious. Would you know of a US source to get the EX-Lite leather outfit that you got from Cloud Climax? The one that you used the leather pants from in your Loch Lomond shoot?

Thank you,

Diaval

Hello,
If you are looking on U.S. sites for the 700D then you will have trouble finding it, Canon renames their DSLR cameras for the North American market.
The 700D (T5i) is an older model than the T6, but it was originally a mainstream rather than budget camera so the spec sheet was comparatively better for its time. The newer equivalent would be the T6i or T7i. You can do the spec comparison at https://www.dpreview.com/products/compa ... n_eos1300d
You won't be giving up much by going for a T6 (1300D) that would be important to doll photography.
The best photos are taken by people, not cameras. Any modern DSLR is capable of amazing photos in the right hands.

Oh Ok. Thanks for the info. The T6 came up when I did a search for the 700D. So the T6i and T7i is better? Looking up the comparison. The T6i looks impressive, but it still doesn't have as many options as the 700D. The T6 might be enough though and it comes in at a nicer price too.

Hey Diaval, thanks for the kind words, and glad you like the pics. She's an absolute joy to shoot. Not bad for a doll that many here write off as being 'unphotographable' because of her seams and wrinkles!

Ranger has already answered your question about the camera, so I'll not add anything to his reply, other than to reiterate that it's not so much what camera you use, but more the time spent getting the pose right that will make for better pics. Study how real models stand and most importantly, what they do with their hands!

As for your other questions:

1) Shoe size, the ExLite is an EU 35. Which according to google is 4.5/5 in the US. To get her to stand 5'10" you'll need a pair of platforms with a high heels, not just heels. A pair of Demonia 804s will do the trick.

2) Intimacy - get the insert with the larger opening. There's a thread on here somewhere. I'll post the link when I find it.

3) kissing - the exlite face is not soft like TPE or silicone and the lips don't move. The upside is you don't get that TPE taste in your mouth, lol.

4) Joints - just as good as the day I got her.

5) Clothes - I get most of her 'normal' clothes from charity shop/trift stores or ebay. The more elaborate costumes I'll make myself or borrow from friends. fortunately I know a few girls that are about the same size as Kayla and they love dressing her up just as much as I do. As for the leather pants, they are actually latex and made especially for the ExLite. You can get them from CloudClimax, send Paul an email at support@cloudclimax.com and he'll sort you out, he can also ship the ExLite to the states in a few days, he holds stock unlike others that are just drop shippers.

Hope thst helps,
Psion

As for 'Go big or go home'.............that kinda sums out Kayla's latest shoot. We pushed the boat out on this one!

Part 1/3

Damn, this was a fun shoot!
Not easy to get into and a 15min walk from the nearest carpark, but well worth the effort.

Time passes when you're enjoying yourself.
I had the place to myself for 6 glorious hours on a rainy Sunday 40mins from Glasgow.

Thanks to Paul at Cloudclimax for providing the costume, wig and heels.
It fits the Kayla perfectly.

Fantastic wardrobe work on your Kayla! Very pretty companion, indeed. I've had some measure of trouble with sizing on my doll- even though I'm quite familiar women's sizes- simply because her 5'4" 32C/23/33 frame is so ideal that finding perfectly fitted garments is difficult. I really do enjoy planning outfits, acquiring the garments and accessories, and dressing her up. I get most of her stuff from Rebel Circus, Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and Secret Oktober. Good stuff, gdy67, your Kayla looks great!
